Tower Floor Guide
[Video]
[While seeming oddly distracted, there is a smile on Diarmuid's face when he addresses the Network.]
My thanks to all those who helped with making copies of the Tower Floor Guide in the library over the last few days. While I don't know how long the copies posted to the actual floors will last, hopefully we will more easily be able to keep copies in the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges so that when people need them, they can find them. It probably goes without saying, but my thanks also goes out to those who have offered to watch and replenish the stacks should they get low.
As I mentioned in my last post, once the physical copies were made I wanted to put a copy of the guide onto the Network so that we have at least one permanent copy. That is what this post is for.
In the end, I decided to keep the presentation of the information simple so we could get in as much as possible. Anyone who looks over the guide and notices missing or incorrect information, please let me know by posting here. Posts can be made anonymously since I know that the things these floors do to us are often very painful and personal in nature. I will update all information as soon as I can once it is posted.
Anyone who wishes to repost this information as new people arrive, please feel free to do so. I want it to be kept where as many people as possible can see it. My thanks goes out to those who have volunteered to watch over this post to keep it from being tampered with.
Please feel free to contact me about the guide if there are any questions, comments, or concerns. I can be reached through this post, my mailbox which is #0091, or by stopping by my room which is #4-16.
(OOC: As mentioned in his other post, if anyone has questions about what can and cannot be done with the guide, please see this OOC Post. Because of events that will happen in game after this post, while I will be tagging responses right away, please consider none of them having ICly come until late on the 21st/early on the 22nd. Thanks!)

And...did you speak to her about any of the things we discussed or did you just let yourself be distracted by the pain and destruction she no doubt provided you?
no subject
[he thinks for a moment, about their lovely little interaction.]
Of course, she was less than pleased that her own toy was acting up against her...
no subject
[While Diarmuid's expression remains stern, he also seems curious.]
I am not sure if I should send you my apologies or if I should congratulate you. What happened?
no subject
[should he even say the rest? it's quite the story.]
And played with her until she understood what I was trying to get across... it was... ah... beautiful.
no subject
[Diarmuid is honestly afraid of the answer. Even though Battler had shown some promise the first time they had talked, Diarmuid is quite aware that the part of the other man that wants to be more and wants to be something besides a copy is fragile and easily strangled to death by the needs and desires that Battlers was created to feel.
This is especially true if he is getting along 'well' with his master.]
I am not sure if I really wish to know the answer, but I will ask anyway. Did you kill her to prove your point?
no subject
Kill her....? No, no no... I did not kill her.
[a laugh escaped him.]
I did much worse than that... made her feel helpless, with her powers gone, and do you know how vulnerable one feels when that which they know, which they're used to, is taken away? That's not all... mm... should I really tell you...?
no subject
[Suddenly, the darkness that had briefly made itself known when they had first met appears again. Like back then, the appearance is short, but it is long enough to make his next words harsh.]
Obviously, you do not or else you wouldn't be forcing that suffering onto another. Oh...but I forget. That is what you were made to do, right? And apparently you have forgotten that wish to be more...
no subject
....it was true, though, what lancer said.]
Hehh... it is a-... work in progress of sorts, to become more human... to become my own 'person'... there are certain events I wish to carryout first. [like torture? Yeah, basically.]
no subject
That is fine, but what happens when another event shows up and then another, and suddenly you look up and there is no more time? Then what do you do? Would you be happy knowing you had the chance to become more but let it slip away because there were always other things that caught your eye?
Have you been told we only have a year--less than that now--left before the Tower shuts down completely, and we either all die or are left to whatever mercy Ruana chooses to give us?
no subject
no, he had not known this, for he had come back another time and it was after the big reveal. what a shame, really, he wanted nothing more than to become his own person... but to do that he would have to fight everything he was made to do, what he really craved and wanted, and a part of him knew that diarmuid was right.]
Nn... would death be so bad...? Even though I've dealt such a hand many times I've never.... been killed... [and yet his counterpart dies and is revived more times than rika furude.]
no subject
[Diarmuid pauses for a moment, thinking over all the things that have happened recently in the Tower to show that none of them are just going to give up. The thoughts bring a smile to his face.]
I guess it comes down to a question I have asked you before. Do you just want to give into the things that have been planned for you or do you want to be more? Would you really rather one year of pleasure when you could have a lifetime of something better?
no subject
If I just wanted to give in to everything... I would not have gone against my own master.
[because... being his own person, it's interesting. he likes it.]
You are full of such amusing responses, Diarmuid. [is this... is this what they call a 'friend'...?!]
no subject
Well, on second thought maybe he can argue the point a little bit.]
That really depends. Did you lash out at her solely because you wanted to feel the pleasure you would get from hurting her, or did you lash out because you wanted to prove you are your own person?
[Diarmuid pauses a moment before quickly asking a question.]
What's so amusing about my responses?
no subject
...well, he's starting to care.]
Both...? Hehh... yes yes, both.
[and battler just laughs lightly at that question.]
You always know what to say, have such wonderful advice... I like hearing your responses. [yes, frands. ....maybe?]
no subject
[The strangest friends ever...]Both?
[The answer is actually better than Diarmuid expected. He had really suspected that Battler had just given into to his desire to hurt and torture. That he hadn't showed that same odd sort of promise that he had shown when they first met.
How strange this relationship between them is...]
If you truly felt both, that is a good sign. It means you can make movement forward even when you are feeling the urge to fulfill the task you were made for, though it would be wise to keep moving toward feeling that desire less and less. It is more important to focus on just making yourself more when you can.
[Diarmuid's eyes drop to the side for a moment. He seems a little...embarrassed by Battler's odd praise.]
My advice is what it is. Simple words from one who has been there before...
no subject
Mm.... so, one made of pure magical energy, destined to be furniture... can really break free..?
Hehh- I wonder if this is what Kanon and Shannon went through when they wanted to fight so dearly for their beloved Jessica and George.
no subject
One copy of a soul made of magical energy--destined only to fight and die--already has. Why can't you?
[A curious look crosses his face.]
Who are Kanon and Shannon?
no subject
[and he appreciates it.]
They are... furniture like me. They serve another master however, Kinzo Ushiromiya of Rokkenjima, my counterpart's grandfather. Those two.... had fallen for humans, but were convinced they could not love.
no subject
Maybe that is why he continues to push Battler even though he really isn't sure if, in the end, it will be a good thing. He hopes it will be. For both Battler and those he runs into.]
Did anyone ever change their minds? Or is this story a tragic one?
[Like so many he knows...]
no subject
[it's quite a magical one, and even more so since he was the one that handed their deaths to them, all of them.]
Jessica so desperately pleaded with Kanon to love her, saying he wasn't furniture, and he didn't realize any of it, the only time he knew was during th moments of his death, but it was already too late for the both of them. The culprit of Rokkenjima killed them.
As for George and Shannon, oh... perhaps even more painful? For she had accepted him and the ring, ready to marry him, but they soon died thanks to that murderer as well.
After all.... there are no happy endings on that island. [that was just one story, however, there are many different tales of that island, many game boards.]
no subject
And that only compounds the tragedy...]
What a terrible place to live if none can ever be happy. Why would anyone stay in such a place? I have to admit, your Master told me little of your world so it is hard for me to understand it or why it would feel the need to create someone trapped as you are.
no subject
[what a lovely witch she is.]
no subject
[That is something Diarmuid finds unsettling since curiosity is something he's always had.]
Who is Lady Bernkastel?
no subject
[but he always just keeps his head down, doing whatever the witches say.]
Mm... a witch that grew too bored with everything. She created me for entertainment, I suppose, for even more torment. The culprit theory, that the real Battler was the one that killed his entire family, she turned a theory into a reality.
no subject
[Shock covers his face.]
Just how powerful are the Witches of your world? I know I saw one create tea from thin air, but tea is one thing. A living being...
