My thanks to all those who helped with making copies of the Tower Floor Guide in the library over the last few days. While I don't know how long the copies posted to the actual floors will last, hopefully we will more easily be able to keep copies in the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges so that when people need them, they can find them.  It probably goes without saying, but my thanks also goes out to those who have offered to watch and replenish the stacks should they get low.

As I mentioned in my last post, once the physical copies were made I wanted to put a copy of the guide onto the Network so that we have at least one permanent copy. That is what this post is for.

In the end, I decided to keep the presentation of the information simple so we could get in as much as possible. Anyone who looks over the guide and notices missing or incorrect information, please let me know by posting here.  Posts can be made anonymously since I know that the things these floors do to us are often very painful and personal in nature. I will update all information as soon as I can once it is posted.

Anyone who wishes to repost this information as new people arrive, please feel free to do so. I want it to be kept where as many people as possible can see it.  My thanks goes out to those who have volunteered to watch over this post to keep it from being tampered with.

The Tower Floor Guide

[Even as he apologizes, he has to let out a sigh of relief.]

Don't be. It's my fault for letting my concentration slip.

[Diarmuid tilts his head so that his brother can see the wound better. There is a long, ugly, slanting gash across his cheekbone starting low near his nose and ending higher just shy of his ear and uncomfortably close to his eye. It goes all the way down to the bone.

And has, conveniently, obliterated that troublesome mole of his. It's a shame that won't stop the curse from activating...]

Good luck seeing it with all that blood. Man... I'm making a mess...

[He frowns as he sees the big wound. One hand goes to wipe away the blood.]

It's not your fault. I forgot we were sparring.

[And even worse, he had made it with Gae Bolg. Its curse was such that wounds made by the spear were very hard to heal, if they could be healed at all.]

[Diarmuid hisses under his breath when his brother wipes away the blood. Not that it does much good since more soon replaces it.]

Gae Bolg's curse is still active, right? We need to find a way to stop the bleeding...if that is even possible.

[He doesn't keep arguing with his brother about whose fault it is right now since Diarmuid knows Cu Chulainn won't listen. Maybe he will be able to get him to listen later, but it's not going to happen when there are more important things to be dealt with.]

[He's already working on drawing his runes.]

Sorry if this is gonna take a while. First time I've actually tried to cure a wound from Gae Bolg before.

Don't worry. Take your time.

[Diarmuid starts to nod, but stops himself so that he doesn't jar the wound or interrupt his brother's work.]

It doesn't need to be pretty. It just needs to not be bleeding. If it scars, it scars.

[He nods, but says nothing since he's so concentrated on working. Runes sketched in various patterns surround Diarmuid's face, working on breaking the curse. Or at least weakening it so Diarmuid's own magic resistance can take over.]

[Diarmuid remains silent allowing his brother to work. Right now the fact that he could have also been called as Saber is working to his advantage because it means his magic resistance is stronger than that most Lancers would have. In fact, after a few moments he feels a shift like something might be happening.]

Did you feel that too? I think maybe...

[puppy_lancer]

Yeah, I think it's working!

[He pulls his hands away from Diarmuid's face.]

It doesn't hurt so much now.

[Diarmuid shifts slightly, but stops when he's hit with a shock of pain.]

Or maybe it does... Is it still bleeding?

[puppy_lancer]

It's still open. Gonna need to give it some time to scar over, I guess.

I am not going to complain about a scar considering the weapon that gave me that scar.

[Diarmuid tries to smile, but quickly stops when the movement sends pain through his face.]

Not so pretty now, am I? Waver is going to have a fit when he sees it.

[puppy_lancer]

[Maybe because he's so relieved, Lancer break out laughing. He only answers after he finishes catching his breath.]

What are you talking about? A scar just makes you look more intriguing.

[Diarmuid smiles slightly at his brother's laughter, since that is all he can do without causing himself pain.]

Glad to see you laughing, but might I point out I really don't need to have people finding me more interesting than they already do? Besides, even if I did, the lecture I am probably going to get is going to make me forget all about that.

What were you thinking, you bloody idiot? You could have lost your eye. You shouldn't...blah blah...

[He's trying to do an impression of Waver's voice and failing miserably.]

[And at this, Lancer laughs harder. So hard, in fact, that he chokes. After some coughing, he looks up at Diarmuid again.]

Well, now I know who to avoid for the next couple of days. If he's gonna lecture you, who knows what he's gonna do to me.

[Diarmuid raises an eyebrow at his brother.]

You okay? And don't worry. I will be sure to tell him not to get on your case about it. The fault was mine the whole way. I am just glad things didn't end up worse. You could have been hurt too.

[puppy_lancer]

Yeah, I'm fine.

[He lets off one last, tiny chuckle.]

...It's a good thing we both stopped, huh?

Yeah...

[Diarmuid sighs and rolls his eyes up to look at his brother.]

Sorry. I think I underestimated just how upset we were about things. I probably shouldn't have made the suggestion in the first place.

[puppy_lancer]

I shouldn't have accepted.

No more spars. Not for a long while.

[Diarmuid nods, his expression sad.]

It's a shame the Tower has done this to us. Taken something that is usually fun and turned it into a danger. And with all that is going on, I don't expect either of our stress levels to be dropping anytime soon.

[puppy_lancer]

[Lancer puts his arms around Diarmuid in a hug.]

So...how about we relax by doing something else? We could always go fishing. Or monster hunting.

[Diarmuid carefully returns the hug, trying to make sure he doesn't bump the cut on his face.]

Fishing would be fun. Once I'm done being grounded by Waver that is...

You can put it in your notes. Best floors to catch fish on.

[Diarmuid laughs, wincing slightly at the pain it causes.]

It would be nice to have some information in there that isn't about the horrid traps on the floors or monsters, wouldn't it?

Of course. Even if it's all fake, I think people are gonna want to know where to catch their own food. Or what's actually good for eating.
