I've really grown accustomed to this place, believe it or not. As mundane as my daily activities seem to be...

[Giorno seems a little bored, really, seeing as how he's resting his head on his hand as he's sitting in a chair.]

...but I will admit, that the events taking place are quite...interesting. The residents manage to impress me every day, really. [The way he says it makes it sound like he's actually not too impressed with what's been going on lately, but hey, he's usually expressionless anyway. Nevertheless, Giorno stands up, pacing back and forth.]

This reminds me of the events that transpired back at home- after all, I was part of a group that broke out against the main faction. [And the leader of that, no doubt- but he wasn't going to say that unless someone were to pry into that. Let alone talk to him about it.] But tell me, have you ever rebelled? Against a person, leader- whatever it may be. I need something to occupy my time in the mean time.

[Oh. It's her. Well, it's not like he really does have a problem with her- in fact, last time is still stuck in his mind, but...]

From what I've gathered, yes. It's honestly a little bit amusing to see it all played out, and...well, I would lend an honest, helping hand. But... [BUT. He wants to run things here ya feel his drift.]

[ You're trying to talk to the thickest girl on the planet. Like she's going to get subtle hints, she just blinks as if she doesn't even know what he's talking about when his voice trails off like that. ]

Ah. Have I not told you of what I did prior to this? [Well, he was sure that he did, but he's pretty sure Asahi would have flipped out. OH WELL. The truth needs to come out sometime, so to put it as delicately as possible;]

I'm a Mafia Boss back at home, or if you would prefer, a "gangstar". [Delicate as always, right.]

[ Aside from that being the worst pun ever.. it's weird to suddenly be told that. Giorno, a member-- no, the boss of the mafia?! She's seen movies, she knows what the mafia is like! (Not this kind of mafia, Asahi..) And it's certainly nothing good, they just hurt people for their own good, to get money and all, but..

Giorno.. isn't like that, right? She can't see if he's lying or not over the terminals since it's difficult to see the tail area. But he can't be joking about this, he wouldn't.. ]

W.. why, Giorno..?!

[He figured he would get that sort of reaction out of the girl, but either way, he's letting out a tiny shrug, inhaling a bit for his explanation that will be long winded either way.]

...the police couldn't do much at home, could they? There are those on the streets who can't protect themselves from those who want to do harm. And I... [He's already radiating that golden aura, feeling himself getting some sort of nostalgia just by reminiscing.]

I wanted to be the ones to help protect those that find themselves in trouble everyday. To give them a chance to live their life without worry- It's what I would call my Resolve to live, actually. And I believe with my Resolve, I will cut open a path through any field of darkness that I may plunge into.

As for I, Giorno Giovanna, have a dream! And that dream is to protect others who need it! And that is why I sought the title of "Gangstar"! And I have already accomplished that goal myself!

[ Aside from that speech being extremely corny, it at least seems to shut up Asahi for a moment - instead she just blinks idly as she stares at him over the terminal.

It takes her a moment to let everything he said even catch up to her, but once she understands everything she also realises what's wrong with this whole thing.. ]

.. You know, Giorno.. you shouldn't go around calling yourself a gangster or a mafia boss if that's what you're doing! You're going to give people completely the wrong idea about you and about what you're doing that way! [ THAT HE DOESN'T EVEN REALISE THAT.. What a hopeless case. ]

[...ASAHI!? He seems a little dumbfounded by the fact that she actually openly expressed it as him giving people the wrong idea...but...it's...how he's always viewed his mafia? Either way, he's just staring blankly at the girl, crossing his arms.]

...but I am a gangster- it's what I've set out to become ever since I was a small child. And the mafia I run is a bit different. I wouldn't have power over such a group if I wasn't mafia boss. So, a mafia it shall stay. Even if we do things a bit differently than others out there.

[ You're way too complicated for her to follow sometimes, Giorno. In fact, Asahi has to think about all of it for a few moments and then she frowns to herself.. ]

So you're just calling it a mafia since that sounds cooler, even though you guys don't do bad stuff? [ SHE DIDN'T THINK HE CARED THAT MUCH ABOUT APPEARANCES.. ]

[...IT DOESN'T SOUND COOLER?! Asahi no!? Oh my god, he's practically already rubbing the side of his temples. How in the world does he even try to explain this without rubbing the girl the wrong way...]

...if I were to join a mafia for the sake of it sounding "cool", then I would find my priorities set in the wrong places. [MEANING; HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT APPEARANCES.] It's for the sake of a man that once saved me.

[ .. But your golden hair and weird heart-shaped hole in your shirt say otherwise, Giorno.. aren't you trying so hard to be fashionable, that's what Asahi assumed from it combined with this..

But she just blinks at the last part. Giorno being saved instead of doing the saving? ]

Wait, did he ever help you out when you were trying to join the mafia or something?

[He has to do some more cheesy explanations, doesn't he? It takes him a while, before he managed to get it out at least.]

...when I was a small child, I didn't lead the greatest of lives. I was often bullied by the other children, my mother would leave me at night as I would shrivel in my bed, terrified, and my own step father beat me...however. That all changed when that man came into my life. He was part of the mafia, but...he was badly injured- it seemed a rival gang had gotten to him. They asked me where he was, and I merely led them astray. Since then, he had protected me from that day, helping me shape into the person I am today.

And that is why I, Giorno Giovanna, became a Gangstar! To show my thanks to that man, and repay him for that kindness he has shown me!

[ Yeah, cheesy is a good way to describe all of that. At least it's full of spirit, and the first part actually is.. pretty sad, even Asahi knows that, but then suddenly at the end it turns so corny again.. Giorno, make up your mind instead of telling a story with moodswings like this, now she's not sure how to react!

.. All of that really happened to you..? With your parents, I mean?

[He's a JoJo, how can he ever not moodswing and be super full of enthusiasm when it comes to this sort of thing...but no, what she said next only got a solemn nod out of him.]

I wouldn't make this up if I could. This is something that's happened to me before, but I've grown stronger as a person because of it.

Well, I guess it explains a lot.. [ Why he's so lineface, for one. It means he never got love from his parents, so of course he'd have more trouble expressing himself because of that, especially compared to how over the top emotional she herself is.. but it still hurts a little, knowing that happened to him. It's not fair. He's such a good person, and yet.. ]

I'm sorry though, Giorno. You shouldn't have had to deal with that..

[He waves off that statement. Sentiments aren't his best suit, and he's not exactly going to share any sentiment in his past life. Even if she knows, he's not going to change that stone expression on his face. Not even a budge.]

It's something that I've grown out of. I'm sure if I had never had that run in, I wouldn't be like this. So, I'm glad that those sort of events happened...it's to strengthen my resolve, of course.
