I understand what you mean. It seems like sometimes good things take a long time to get used to. Maybe even longer than it takes to get used to bad things.

Exactly. I'm not sure if that feeling will ever go away [Not helpful, Naminé.] but you can't let it stop you from living either. [It's what she tells herself, anyway, and she can only hope it will be helpful for Kanaya, too.]

[She wants to say that she can't think of a reason for them to repeat the experiment, but the idea that maybe the despair that would come from being right about the return of the phantom could be a goal comes to mind and makes her refrain from saying so. Instead, after a moment's consideration, she attempts a lock and continues with,] It would be easier to guess what might happen next if we knew what they were studying. I can't say for sure but I do know of people who have studied hearts in the past. A lot of the things that have happened here have involved emotions but I don't think it's enough to prove that that's their goal.

They were interested in the metaphysical heart but I guess it might make sense to study the physical one too if that really is what they're doing.

Feelings and the place feelings are stored I think. It also holds memories. At least that's the way it is in my world. It might be different in other ones. It's something like the mind but not quite the same thing. More like a soul I guess. [Ironic, someone without a heart trying to explain a heart to someone who probably had one.] Almost every heart has both light and darkness inside it along with everything else.

The mind plays a part in it too. Even people who have lost their heart can retain their memories. But if you alter the memories in someone's heart you can fool their mind. [Which she knows all too well.]

I think you're probably right. Like I said I can't be sure but I thought it might be worth mentioning.

I'm happy to help. You're right if they've been taking people from the worlds then they can probably learn a lot about those worlds too if they want to. It's concerning considering all of the dangerous things out there.

[It is an odd question, but she's always eager to try to help people, so she doesn't let that stop her. There's probably a good reason for it, anyway.]

I can think of a few places in the tower than people might not want to go, but that's for a good reason. There's a lot of room in the forest and the maze but the forest is dangerous and the maze is [well,] confusing. There's also that floor where everything is dark but I don't think that's very safe either.

Someone I know hid in the library for a long time but he was eventually found. If it was just an object though it might be easier to hide since there are so many shelves that people probably never look at.

The only other places I can think of are the floors with all the water. Maybe if you were to hide something under the water it would be less likely that anyone would find it but I'm not sure it would be easy to get it down there or to get it back.

Do you mean that it would be damaged by the water or that it's actually alive?

I remember you telling me something about that when we first met. Didn't it get destroyed?
