[Good day tower, have a very bored-looking Asagi in her red training uniform and her jacket, rocking back on two legs of a chair in front of a terminal.]

Now that shit's not facing imminent explosion- you know what I don't appreciate? Dying.

[She kicks back, throwing her feet up and leaning back in her chair to stare at the ceiling.]

I mean, the once back home wasn't really all that unexpected, even if I didn't think it'd actually happen at the time.

[She starts tossing a bracelet that's similar to the ones on her wrists up and down with one hand, heaving a sigh.]

But when people make it so that I have to go and put forth all the effort I can with these things, it's kind of inevitable. One big downside to 'em, I guess you could say. But you know what's not inevitable?

[She catches the bracelet with a finger, twirls it around almost boredly.]

Dumbass escalations of force where it's completely unnecessary. Especially in regards to shit that was your fault to begin with. But I mean hey, I guess as long as you get off on fucking with people that way, that kind of thing isn't really a problem, huh? Except really, it kind of is. And I'd appreciate it if it'd fucking stop?

Like seriously.

Get a hobby or something.

Cause I hear about one more stupid 'revenge' fight and I swear I'll rig this whole place to go nuclear.

[And she tosses the bracelet at the terminal to shut it off.]

I had to crank the cloneblade all the way up to deal with you. So you wouldn't wind up doing anything you'd regret. Thing about that is, they drain us when they're pushed that much.

[An idle twist of her hair around a finger.]

So as soon as I crushed your heart and dragged you out of the way, I died. Again.

[It takes him a few seconds to process that. He had forced Asagi to kill him. And in process, Asagi's powers had killer her.]

[Once the gravity of everything sinks in, he slams his fist down into table that the terminal rests on. The force of his blow smashes a dent in the table.]

[He wishes Diarmuid wasn't so quick to try to make peace with Sephiroth, because he wants to hunt down and kill Sephiroth and his allies. Make them pay for what had happpened.]

[Though now, he has to focus his attention on Asagi. When he looks up at her again, he feels his rage melting away into grief and remorse.]

...I guess a simple apology isn't gonna cut it in this case, is it?

[The exhaustion of Diarmuid's face is bone-deep and it's not just because he was one of the people who helped to recharage the Tower.]

If it helps any Sephiroth and I have come to an...understanding. There is to be nothing else done on this point. Now, I would be an even bigger fool than I already have been to take his word at face value, but nothing more will come from my side if I can help it. I am talking to everyone I can and making them swear not to retaliate in any way for this action no matter how much the retaliation might seem 'deserved' in their minds.

[Diarmuid bows his head to her.]

Don't get me wrong, Diarmuid- the guy needs a boot to the face more than anyone I've ever met, including the brat who killed me.

[Which is saying a lot, because Asagi would kick her sister in the face in a blink.]

But people like that don't play fair, as evidenced by that fucking fiasco.

Honestly, I'm kind of pissed I didn't think to collect his head before anything else happened, but I figured getting his butt kicked once would be enough. I didn't think he'd go crying to his evil tower mommy or whatever.

If what Ganondorf suggested while he was talking to me is true, Sephiroth didn't so much go to him as the story was drug out of him and Ganondorf took getting revenge upon himself.

[Diarmuid scowls.]

He gave me this long chat about how it was within his rights to defend his 'family' when apparently it wasn't within my rights to defend my own. I will never understand how people like him think and I do not wish to.

[He's still trying to muddle through how similar he and Sephiroth are on some levels and that is terrifying enough on its own. He doesn't want to be able to understand how someone like Ganondorf thinks on top of that.]

I...didn't see how your fight with my brother ended, but he apparently doesn't remember any of it. Try not to be harder on him than you need to be, okay?

Either way, it was hypocritical and stupid. They stood around and lectured us about dragging people into fights they didn't 'need' to be in while doing the same thing.

It was the worst kind of egocentric and people like that piss me off. Especially the ones who refuse to admit it's just cause of ego.

[A frown then, head tilted.]

Why would I be hard on him? I mean yeah, dying sucked but it wasn't exactly his fault he went batshit to begin with.

I know now that is why things went so wrong. I just assumed they would have some kind of boundaries. Some kind of code.

You were upset enough, I thought you mind blame him and as you say, it's not his fault. I'm glad you aren't upset with him.

Now...does that mean I can count on you to help me keep him from going after Sephiroth or any of the others? He said he wouldn't when we talked, but...well, you know him. I don't want him getting hurt again. He's...died too many times.

It wasn’t obvious at first. I got involved without knowing too much about them, and I thought they were trying to help out instead of just helping themselves.

I found out the truth when I tried to share information with the rest of the people here… then they came and made sure I’d never do something against their orders again.
