So are we just not going to talk about the fact that this place is suddenly a lot less dangerous?
[Asagi sighs, and shrugs, leaning back in her chair as she always is.]
Alright then, let's talk about something else.
[She kicks her feet down and leans forward, chin on her hands, feigning attentiveness.]
Tell me then- what's your good end for the tower? What do you boys and girls out there hope winds up happening when the clock hits zero on our time here?
Come on.
Always did love a good fairytale.

action
[She rolls her eyes a little, leaning back on her hands.]
You know, I never really thought about it but you must be pretty old if you had a wife and kid and all that.
Re: action
I'm thirty-two if you count the time I spent here...I think. Give or take two or three years.
[He shrugs.]
So I'm not old. I just not a kid any longer.
action
[She smirks though, shrugging her shoulders idly.]
Not a big deal though- and I was only teasing... mostly.
[Another stretch, and she looks up at him, amused.]
You're not going to try and give me some big speech or anything about us being a thing now, are you?
Re: action
[He takes a deep breath.]
...Are you okay with me still loving my wife?
action
Depends. That going to change how you feel about me?
[A pause, and then-]
Or I guess, am I going to spend a bunch of time trying to live up to someone else's part in your life?
Re: action
[It's hard for him to explain. He loved both of them romantically, sure. But in slightly different ways. For slightly different traits.]
action
[Because she is no one's consolation prize.]
But yeah, I get it I guess. Just don't expect me to be as forgiving as she was.
Re: action
[He laughs nervously.]
Guess...I'm gonna have to clean up my act a bit more then...
Re: action
[A meaningful look.]
You're lucky I'm not a more extreme jealous type.
Re: action
[His laughter becomes more strained as he remembers the one time he dealt with a really jealous woman. If Morrigan inspired some mix of fear and anger in him, Aoife inspired mostly fear.]
no subject
At least you know it. So. We're agreed, right?
[Her gaze narrows marginally, sharpening.]
No hitting on girls who aren't me.
no subject
I promise. I'll stick to it to the best of my ability.
no subject
Alright- but you'd better know I'll be angry if I hear about anything like that.
no subject
[He feels himself breaking into a cold sweat.]
And if you get angry...don't bottle it up. You can just...take it out of me.
[He knows that it'll probably be painful on his end, but he's willing to stand there and take it. When he's not hiding from her wrath, that is.]
no subject
[The corner of her mouth quirks into a smile.]
After all, if you break my trust now that you've promised, there won't be any holding back in the slightest.
[She's so good at this whole negative reinforcement thing, isn't she?
The corner of her mouth twitches a little higher.]
But I'm sure it won't come to that, hmm?
no subject
Nope, it'll never come to that. Ever.
...Now, how about doing something special together to seal the deal?
no subject
[And here she rolls her eyes, but at least the smile, as it is, doesn't disappear.]
Like what? Throw a party?
no subject
no subject
[Pardon while she blinks in confusion.]
Okay...?
no subject
[He bows and offers her his hand.]
no subject
[She takes the offered hand though, straightening her shirt idly.]
At least we don't have to worry about the stupid mermaids anymore.
no subject
I've heard about those things. They did pretty nasty shit to you.
no subject
[The hand not in his settles on his shoulder, and she shrugs idly.]
Shame. The ones I read about weren't always quite as bad.
no subject
So what were the ones you read about like?
no subject
[A shrug, and she takes a step closer.]
Some of them though... some of them sank whole ships for shits and giggles.
[A slight pause, and then-]
Or for food.
