So... my world's been destroyed. Yeah, not buying it. It's been tried before, by bigger and, well, probably better than whoever's behind this. In fact, I was sort of in the middle of the whole preventing the apolocypse game show right before I got zapped here, so if I could pretty please go back to that...?

Yeah, didn't think that would work. Well. Hi, everyone? I'm Willow Rosenberg, witch extraordinaire. At least they were nice enough to send me here with clothes and magic supplies. No way am I staying in the white phallus suit.

If someone could fill me in on the features that are not as advertised, I'd appreciate it. I'm sure there's all sorts of stuff to know about this place.

A tour might be nice, too. This is a lotta floors.

Uh, yeah. I'm a Weapon so it's kind of required for me to eat souls, though a lot of others just absorb them. I don't do it much anymore since I retired to look after my partner.

There's the experiments too. It's pretty much an asylum or something along those lines. What colour's your collar?

I don't think I even know what to ask first. ... Do souls have flavors? Like -- like crunchy, or sour? [This is clearly the most important question she could be asking about this.] And tell me if I get annoying cause, uh, perpetually academically curious, here.

Pleasant. It's purple; does that mean something?

It's okay. [He gets it all the time] And they don't really have a flavor. They're kinda...jello like? In substance I mean. But I mostly liked eating them because of the texture.

Oh, violet. That means your checkup day is Saturday. Mine's indigo so I'm the day before. Just...um...don't try tampering with it. I heard it causes it to explode.

Jello like. Sounds plausible. You seem kinda... too nice to be all indiscriminate willy-nilly soul eating, though. Are there rules for something like this?

We'll see. No promises. If I get too desperate, I might prefer the explosion. And couldn't I get a Monday or something? Mondays are already foul - now I have to be poked and prodded over the weekend.

Heh. Well yeah, there is. Weapons like me eat demon souls in order to become Death Scythes. Um...anybody who eats innocent human souls is on their way to becoming Kishin, the demons that we absorb.

S-Sorry but I don't think there's any way to reschedule...your collar colour determines the date.

Oh, that makes sense. Demon souls, though... yuck. Probably a good thing they're tasteless. Some of the ones I've met have been all, goopy and smelling of bad eggs.

Yeah. Kinda a good thing they don't smell either. Some of the Kishin are pretty ugly.

O-oh, it's okay. I'm kinda anxious all the time nowadays so it's pretty much second nature to apologize.

That just makes you totally commendable.

What's been making you so nervous? If that's, um, okay to ask.

N-no, it's okay. I mean, you seem pretty nice.

[A deep breath.]

My partner and I were in a fight against someone, and she managed to link their souls so she could fix whatever was wrong with them. But...it kinda went wrong. [A small sigh.] She got inflicted with the Madness too. I retired to take care of her but she's...kinda crazy now.

... I'm sorry. Something like that happened to someone I cared about very much. [Feel free to notice the past tense, and the way she's suddenly reserved.] Not exactly, I mean-- it was all Glory's doing in that case-- but I know how hard it is to see them like that. [Not to mention Joyce near the end of her life. Wow, these are all her worst memories. Willow tries to wrench herself out of their grip.]

It's really admirable of you to give up so much for her. I'm sure she'd appreciate it if she, um, could.

[It's hard and no one understands.]

Y-yeah. Um I'm studying nursing now, and one of my Professors is working on a cure but...it doesn't look like he's gonna be coming up with one anytime soon. So I gotta take care of her. But she's not here and I'm not sure I wanna believe them about our worlds dying or whatever.

I can't believe it at all, [she says stridently, unable to accept any part of it.] I have faith in my friends. Something like that wouldn't happen with just a... a whisper in the night, and then wham, kidnapping.

She'll still be there when you get back, Soul. She has to be.

I know she will be. S-She might be crazy but she's made of tougher shit than that. And our friends will take care of her if anything happens.

Y-Your friends will be too, Willow. They'll still be there.
