I'm pretty sure it's December now, that means Christmas! Or Hanukkah. Or Kwanza. I don't think there are other holidays in December. [she looks like she's trying to think of more December holidays, but she shakes her head, nope, no more] We should give each other gifts or something. Maybe do a secret Santa! Or whoever gives gifts on Hanukkah and Kwanza. Do you get gifts for Kwanza? Anyway we can make each other gifts with stuff in the tower!

Really, it's just us and our lusus...they choose us when we're ready to leave the breeding caverns and then we grow to take care of each other.

What's a lusus and a breeding cavern?

The breeding cavern is where we're all born, and where we face the trials to determine if we can survive to the next stage. Our lusus, as I said, acts as a guardian to us...there are all different kinds of creatures, depending on what blood colour you have.

What? No. That's where the Mother Grub lives. And, well, if we can't beat the Trials we don't survive to find out so I'm guessing whatever it takes to live in a violent, cull-happy society.
