You may notice that there are various chocolates sitting around the tower. Do not eat them, as most (if not all) seem to affect the thinking of the person who consumes them, making them a danger to themselves and others. Coupled with another event which only seemed to involve certain people and lasted for one night, yes, I think this would continue the large horror-small horror pattern.

No, we have not found new ways to prepare ourselves. You would do well to find yourself a blanket or the like, though; the temperature has been dropping, and as you've probably already noticed, we seem to be in the midst of a fully developed blizzard. It is not the varying levels of horror that I am mostly concerned with, it is the frequency of such events. That is, they seem to be happening more frequently with greater consequence. But I have not been here for some time so that may just be speculation based on what I was told by other inhabitants.
