[A familiar green font as returned to your screen]
It Seems That My Departure Was Not Long Lived By Which I Mean I Have Returned To The Tower
Things Appear To Be In The Same Conditions As They Were When I Was Sent Home
Forgive Me I Have No Information On How To Return Home Or What I Did To Deserve Being Sent Home
I Have Even Less Information On Why I Have Returned
I Would Appreciate Being Filled In
What Has Occurred In My Absence And Has the Pattern Or Small Horror than Large Horror Repeated Again
Have We Found New Ways To Prepare Ourselves
This May Seem Like Many Questions For Someone Who Has Just Arrived So Let Me Introduce Myself
I Am Kanaya Maryam And I Have Been Here Before
How Much Time Has Passed Between My Departure And My Arrival I Am Unsure Of Although There Must Be People Here To Fill In That Gap
Has Everyone Been As Well As They Can Be While In The Tower

Yeah.
[He gave her a wary look, eyes drawn to the very familiar symbol in a very familiar color that made for a very unfamiliar picture.]
So are you.
no subject
I am. What color does your Kanaya wear? For my Eridan is purple blooded and a sea-dweller.
[Because there is a chance that he is from the same place Red Kanaya is from, not that she knows anything about him. Maybe it will be comforting knowing that he's not from yet another offshoot timeline]
no subject
The douchebag, huh?
[He gives her a wry look on that, lackluster overall, because he's heard stories about that Eridan. No wonder no one liked him, really.]
Kan's red.
[Eridan pauses a bit, hesitating. It will forever feel like he's betraying her whenever he says this, even though by now it shouldn't matter.]
Candy red, I mean.
no subject
Yes, that would be the one. A rather disagreeable version of yourself.
[she nods thoughtfully]
I met her during my previous stay here. Is she still here or did the tower take both Kanayas home?
no subject
[He nods slowly, still overly twitchy and wary. And then the thought occurs to him that he's been busy hiding and being a prick instead of checking on his friends. And the guilt makes him pale somewhat.]
As... as far as I knoww, she's still around. Should be.
[Oh, please let Kan be alright. Please? Fuck, why is he such a selfish idiot that he needed someone else to point things out before he realized he needed to look out for his friends?]
no subject
[She also notices that he seems to get more and more worried the more they talk about Red Kanaya]
I'm sure if she were gone you would have heard about it be now, regardless of what state you were in previously. [she motions to his lack of an arm] If you are so concerned about her, may I ask the relationship between the two of you?
no subject
[Eridan shrugs somewhat dejectedly. Really, the other Eridan sounds like a much nicer guy, over all. He's just forgetable at best. The inquiry about Kan and the unsubtle mention of his current lack of arm makes him snort.]
Ah. I'm her friend, for all the good that does.
[He lowers his voice, looking away.]
She's had it rough, though.
no subject
[a smile] Friends are always welcome, and if you are a friend of hers I trust her judgement, as it must be at least somewhat similar to my own.
Can you tell me about her?
no subject
[Eridan feels stupid. Then again, this misunderstanding is entirely his fault. It usually is, so at least this is nothing new.]
You wwant to hear about Kan?
[Eridan looks a bit lost at that. Huh. What can he say about Kan? He shrugs.]
She's... she's pretty amazin. I don't think wwe could'vve survvivved the session wwithout her.
no subject
I hope you do not mind telling me about her.
[a nod]
She was very important to your session then? I don't think I was.
no subject
[There's an odd sort of conviction to his voice. Trust him, no timeline could survive without one of the others missing. He knows that much at least. He tilts his head to the side, realizing he sounds a bit too forceful.]
Maybe you just don't realize howw much?
no subject
I had my role in the session but I cannot say I fulfilled it. [a pause] I had two roles, actually, neither of them were completed.
no subject
I knoww the feelin, believve me.
[He shakes his head.]
Evven so, wwho knowws? Sometimes it takes a wwhile to realize you didn't really screww up as much as you thought you did. Sometimes you wweren't meant to do all the stuff you thought you did.

I'm. I'm sorry.

[He shrugs, not looking at her in the eye.]
It's not all lost until you're dead.
