[Despite everything Taiki manages to smile back, it was nice to have company, even if it was over a phone.] A place called the Twelve Kingdoms, I am the Kirin of Tai, how about you?
ocariness: (Calmly.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-04 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a lovely place. I am from a land called Hyrule. My title is not anything as fancy, I'm afraid. Though some know me as the Hero of Time.
notagiraffe: (smiley)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-04 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
The Hero of Time? That sounds important. Erm... what is Hyrule like?

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-04 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Very big. There are a lot of hills and plains that lead into different places, like my home, the forest on the borders. There's a lot of different races that live there, too. Peacefully.

[ Link is very fond of Hyrule, if it isn't obvious. ]

[It sounded amazing, Taiki smiled as he imagined it. He was glad that it was peaceful as well, because he had heard of lots of worlds that were not.] You lived in a forest? What was it like?
ocariness: ([Female] A smile!)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-07 11:55 am (UTC)(link)
Amazing. My people, the Kokiri... no one there ages. They are all children, forever--of course, I am adopted, so that did not apply once I left, but we were all raised by an ancient, very wise tree spirit called the Great Deku Tree... he was our 'father'.

The woods had all sorts of magic in them, of course... and every Kokiri has a partner fairy, as well.

[ Link... loves their home very, very much. ;w; ]

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-07 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
No one at all? [Taiki is used to immortality and he is used to Enki who is over five hundred and looks thirteen. But a place where everyone is so, and no one ever grew up!

The idea of a tree spirit raising sounded magical as well and fairies.]
Real fairies? And a tree spirit? Like a tree god?
ocariness: (Default)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-08 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
No one.

[ Grinning, now. Link loves Kokiri Forest, and it shows. ]

Yes, all of these things. Fairies are very important to everyone, where I live. They're our friends and our guides. If we were to get lost in the deeper, dangerous part of the woods, our fairies would lead us back to safety. They help us distinguish friend from foe and talk to others far away from ourselves.

The Great Deku Tree was not a god... even he could die, but he was a very strong, wise deity. It was his protection that kept evil out or threats away from us. Of course, we were always told we could not leave, so for a very long time, I did not know if anything was outside my home...

[Taiki smiled as well, keeping his eyes closed, imagining the scene that was being described because it was better than this cupboard and the scary sounds from outside.]

I've never met a fairy before... I wish I could have seen your home, it sounds beautiful. Was there something outside of your home? Did you leave?

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-09 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
Many things. Though it was dangerous, so I had to leave armed. There is an expanse of plains, leading to deserts, the castle where Princess Zelda lives, the Sheikah village founded nearby for those who needed places to stay... there is also a wonderful ranch where a friend of mine lives and raises horses. The rivers are looked after by the Zora people, and the Mountain is looked after by the Gorons. Death Mountain's trail is above the old Sheikah village, called Kakariko.

Hyrule is a very big country. The King... he worked very hard to unite everyone in it. That is why I do not believe different races cannot live in peace together; I have seen it first hand.

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-09 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Taiki looked sad at the mention of having to leave armed, especially since the forest seemed like such a peaceful place. All the other places sounded wonderful and exciting though. He was glad that they could live in peace together.

"He was a good king? Did he rule for a long time?"
ocariness: (Um... hmmm.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-10 01:20 pm (UTC)(link)
... I believe he must have been to have achieved that. He and the Goron Chieftain and my friend, Darunia, were sworn brothers.

[ Thinking on it, though... ]

The Gorons live on Death Mountain. A Great Fairy also resides there. The volcano is actually quite active, I was surprised.

Death mountain? [Like a mountain of the dead? Taiki was named after such a mountain; Kouri the name his king had given him to replace his earth name.] A great Fairy? The ruler of the fairies?
ocariness: (Glancing backward.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-12 08:51 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I cannot tell you why it's named what it is... though, the volcano is still active, it has not erupted majorly for some time. We believe the Great Fairy who lives atop it keeps it from harming anyone, though venturing towards the summit is still very dangerous without a shield for protection.

[ Link is quite fond of Hyrule, but, hey. At least Taiki's not really scared, right? ]

The Great Fairies are the strongest of the fairies, and act somewhat like their Queens, I think. They also are directly connected to the three Goddesses who made our world: Din, Nayru, and Farore. Each Great Fairy seems to be under a particular Goddess, as well.

... I find it strange this Tower isn't anything like Hyrule is. There is very little magic to it... or life.
notagiraffe: (thinking)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-12 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[It was a great distraction at least, he is no longer thinking about how scared he is.

His eyes widened even more as Link went onto explain the goddesses.]

Do the Goddesses chose the Great Faries? [That was familiar at least if the Great fairies were the Queens.]

Sorry... it is very different... to where I come from as well... it is frightening that they can control... our powers...
ocariness: (Blushingly.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-16 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
[ Oh, no. Link had better explain it a bit better. ]

No, not at all. Our Goddesses are entirely benevolent! I am certain of it. They are very kind, though I do not think they can directly interfere with anything going on in the world they created.

I think it is more that they... act indirectly, through people such as myself or the Great Fairies. They grant them things to pass on to others, like knowledge or magic. The Great Fairies themselves are also very kind--they will heal any traveler whom they are sure has been sent by the Royal Family. To a lesser extent, all fairies will offer to heal people, but it is very important that you treat them with kindness.

I suppose everyone knows the Royal Family... they are all very good people, though. The Princess, especially. She is my very good friend, and I do not think there is anyone kinder or wiser than her.
notagiraffe: (small smiles)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-16 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oh... [He guessed that was a little like his own world, the gods didn't interfere but they did chose kings and create kirin to find and serve them.]

You were chosen by the gods? [He had so many questions, about the princess and fairies and more about the goddesses, but he didn't want to be annoying so he made himself ask just one.]
ocariness: (Inquisitively.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-17 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
So I've been told, at least. I was chosen by the Goddess of Courage, Farore, to bring peace back to our land.

A very evil man has corrupted it. It is my job to stop him and restore the land to the way it used to be. He is very evil, but even he cannot stop good. I had almost succeeded before I was brought here; all that was left was saving the last Sage and then facing him in his Castle.

It is not easy to be courageous in the face of evil, but I believe that the people of my world are more important to me than being afraid.
notagiraffe: (small smiles)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-17 11:29 am (UTC)(link)
[The goddess of courage, Taiki gave a tiny smile as he listened, even though it was frightening that his world had been corrupted at least it could be saved.] You must be very brave... I hope... I hope you can still save your world... when we go back... [Because the world couldn't have ended, Taiki didn't believe that for a moment, Keiki had told him they couldn't exist if their kingdoms were destroyed.]
ocariness: (Glancing upward.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-18 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
... I believe that we will all get to go home, Taiki. It is a matter of patience and perseverance. There's a key to every locked door, after all. We cannot let them make us lose hope.
notagiraffe: (smiley)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-18 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry... yes you are right... We just need to hope... and we will be able to go home...
ocariness: (Jubilant and merry hero.)

[personal profile] ocariness 2012-03-21 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
[ A smile. ]

... We must be positive, Taiki. If we are here, and we can be taken from any point, then surely our worlds, if they ARE gone, can be restored.

I believe this.
notagiraffe: (small smiles)

[personal profile] notagiraffe 2012-03-21 11:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Taiki nodded and his smile became a little brighter.] I believe it too... we will go home.
