[WHACK. Hitting the computer activates the video function. Glaring at the screen is a tan-skinned man with pointed ears, a lovely gin-blossom nose, sunken eyes, and... green hair. And he's already changed out of that weird jumpsuit and into his normal clothes. The top of his orange collar is barely visible over his red cravat.
He narrows his eyes at the screen, then down at the keyboard]
Blasted... typewriter! What kind of contraption is this! Where's the paper?! Cursed LIARS, telling me I could communicate with people using this thing!
[and now he's shaking the computer. Or trying to]
HEY!! TELL ME HOW TO GET BACK, YOU INFERNAL MACHINE!! Put me back on my ship right this instant!

The timelines people are from here are very... scattered. It can be very confusing, I apologize. I assume you are from later, sir?

... Well, every time the land we live in is endangered--us, the Links, I mean, Farore chooses someone of courage and the potential to become a great hero as her Chosen. I think we simply share a name... Sky, the Link from the continent in the sky, is my ancestor.
And I am... something like Sea's predecessor, since he is always saying there were these legends or something about the Hero of Time, which is the title I was given. He is not related to us by blood, though; I think he was simply chosen and given the name he was as a sign of that.
[ A short pause, and Link is sheepish, knowing that's a lot to take in. ]
I--hope that made sense...? It is... a little confusing, I am sure.

... If it helps, think of it like this: Sky is my father, I'm the oldest [ daughter ] child, Forest is the second born, and then Sea was born shortly after him.

Oh, I see you noticed. So we are. That's timelines for you; they can be very confusing. A friend of mine once said time flows like a river--this is very true. If you think of it this way, then I would say that we were just pulled from differing spots in the same river.
Sky was at the beginning of it, I was somewhere in the middle, Forest was only a stone's throw away from myself however, despite his age, and Sea was at the end.
See? That is not very difficult at all.
