Yesterday, I was accosted by three people in red collars and brought to a laboratory. I think they said something about collars and routine procedures, but I can't be sure. I think they must have sedated me.
I don't know what they did while I was unconscious or if any of this is related to the apocalypse, but if they haven't found you yet, I urge you to go into hiding before it's too late!

I think he would still be out of touch with you; he was completely insane and under Medusa's influence while he was here. I spent most of my time trying to make sure he didn't hurt anyone, or himself.

...I suppose you could call it a gateway. I haven't had much time to give it a lot of thought. And I suppose I don't entirely care to, I just want to leave.

But-- No! That can't be right. We fought Medusa. He wasn't-- I would have known if she'd influenced him.

[He pauses for a moment, breathing somewhat shakily. ]

I'm sorry. He must have been from a different universe.

[He pauses again, choking back his tears as well as he can. ] How was he when he left the tower?

[She pauses for a while, trying to think of a nice way to say it.] Bad. He was... He wasn't even himself.

[Stein forces herself to smile, because otherwise she honestly thinks she might cry and she can't not with Spirit here because she needed to be the strong one because he would need her to be.] But you're right, he must have been from another universe from you. [Even though she knows it might not be the truth, because he told her about how he killed Medusa, just like she had, just like Spirit had. But what's one lie in the face of not having to resort to tears?] Our universes must be similar; I fought Medusa too. Twice.

...Oh. That probably deserves some explanation. When I first got here, we were sent home, and I had to fight him on my own too. It's a shame you weren't here then.

[He nods, screwing his eyes shut for a moment. ]
I guess I should have known that one of you would succumb to the madness in a parallel universe.
Which isn't to say that I think you're-- Well, you seem relatively sane right now.
At least I hope you are. How are you?

[He swallows, doing his level best to force a smile. ]

In any case, I'm glad to hear that your world didn't come to an end as well. You could probably go back home if you wanted to.

I wouldn't want to go back. Medusa was the only one left so far as I know. Just him and me. I couldn't do that. I'd end up no better off than the other one.

[She wants to ignore the question of how she is for a little while longer, partially because she doesn't entirely know the answer to that question herself.] ...Where are you right now? We might as well meet face to face.

But if you can't go back to your world and you don't want to stay here, where will you-- Never mind. You're right. We might as well meet face to face.

I'm at one of the terminals on the first dorm level. Where are you?

[Rather than answering him, she shuts off her terminal, and starts climbing down from the library to his location, leaning slightly on a nearby wall.]
