oo1 [ video ]
[While he usually uses audio settings back home, this time he's going to use video. It might help if someone recognizes him, and not just by voice. Which is why everyone can see that he opted not to use the white jumpsuit (because who really would?), and instead used the clothes that he had found in the trunk. Thank god they gave him brushes, too, or his hair would be a mess.]
This connects to the network, yes? This is Tseng, Director of the Department for Administrative Research. ID Number 46952. [There's no confirmation after that, of course, and his eyes narrow.]
After awaking in room 03-04, I found the letter stating that Gaia had been destroyed. Unbelievable, of course, and whoever has decided to play this kind of prank can be assured that their pay will be docked.
[The collar, too, is a nice touch; just enough that it's annoying, and such a garish color.] I'm more concerned with someone touching my things, and somehow knowing what to pack in that trunk. They also left me without a lighter, if there is anyone willing to lend me one for a moment.
Any and all information from a reliable, spoken source, would be appreciated.
[End transmission.]

No, it's not Scandinavian. [He has no idea what that is, and he doesn't know what to call Midgar, either.] It used to be the capitol of Gaia, located on the Eastern Continent. It's been destroyed, though, with most people moving away.
I've never heard of the US, but I have heard of the Western Continent. Is it the same as that?

[He's not even going to try to hide his surprise at that particular statement.]
You haven't heard of the United States?... I guess you could say it's part of the Western Continent. Or one of them. It's definitely part of the Western Hemisphere.
What's Materia?

[This is... a little odd. You couldn't go anywhere in Gaia without knowing about Wutai, because of the war, and Costa Del Sol, because of the beach. But this may make sense, now, if he accepts the idea of different worlds. This place seems to break the norm.]
It's crystallized Mako. [There was no one who didn't know about Materia on The Planet, so this was obviously not someone from there. Still, he did seem interesting.] In layman's terms, it's how we use magic.

[He nods contemplatively as Tseng explains 'Materia']
Right... What's Mako? Is that-- Wait! It's a form of magic? Why didn't you just say so?
no subject
[Well then.] Yes, it's a form of magic. And I have to say, I think we're from completely different worlds. No one on Gaia would not know what Mako is.
