[anonymous text] IS ♞ EVEN ON THE NETWORK'S CHARACTER MAP || 003
We have taken the liberty of doing some research into the Tower's history and past trends, in hopes of uncovering something about the way this place operates, or solving one of the many mysteries that surrounds it. It would greatly benefit us if you could lend your assistance and help us with our research; the more people that answer the better, as it gives us more data to work with.
We understand that someone's probably sick of these kind of forms, questions and questionnaires, but we've done our best to compile the data from the past ones and hopefully not make it too repetitive, and get to the heart of the matter:
Name: (Optional)
Collar Color: (Self-Explanatory; if your collar color was changed during that screw up, if you remember what color it was changed to and the effects it had on you, we request that you record these as well. If you don't remember, that's perfectly fine.)
Special Abilities: (Superhuman or otherwise. Don't sell yourself short, please.)
Estimated Duration of Stay in the Tower: (Also Self-Explanatory)
Any Theories as to the Meaning of the Collars: (Optional, but any ideas would greatly help our research.)
Experiments/Special Events Experienced:(We're trying to put together a timeline of events that have occurred since the Tower was created, but we have not been present long enough to know all of them, and information on the earlier days seems to be scant. Putting them in chronological order would be extremely helpful if you remember about when each took place.)
And here's the form in a handy dandy code:
In addition, we have a few more gaps we'd like to fill about the earlier days of the Tower, but it seems that many of the people that were here at the beginning have disappeared. For those that were here in the very early days, we have a few questions about the environment-- nothing too invasive. Your cooperation would be invaluable.
Lastly, we have one more question to posit, both for discussion and for the sake of our curiosity and research; how do souls work in your world? If you have information on how your own soul specifically works and are willing to share it, this would help us a lot.
For any of these queries, if you feel more comfortable locking your answer, this is perfectly acceptable and we will take steps to make sure it is as private as possible. Anonymous posting may also be used if you're dubious as to the functionality of the lock system.

Re: [text]
...but...]
so
you got this evil corruption stuff that piles up as you fight
that you have to scrub off every now and then
but you can just, do it? no weird limits to what all you can purify?
so what's this vileness look like is it just a gross dark gloop, how do you know when's the right time to swoop in and clean things up?
Re: [text]
Vileness itself can be many things: I have seen it as a red and black viscous liquid, a purple slime, and a fine black mist that yet behaves as liquid. Its appearance rarely defines it as much as its presence. My weapon, when pure, is white and emits a blue beam. As it taints, it blackens, and the beam becomes red. It is less effective in my hands as it gathers vileness.
[always anon]
um
Enoch, you said
would you mind if one of us
if I came and talked to you more about this in person
[text]
I wouldn't mind at all. Is something troubling you? Where would you like to meet?
[anon] bluh bluh this is assuming they actually trade names in the floor 11 thread
Well, she's got an idea for where to meet that won't reveal who she is to uninvolved people reading this.]
The other day, we were - you and me, I mean, both loitering on the same floor till it got way dark. It was near the end of last month.
I'll see you there.
[And she's off to the eleventh floor.]
[action] Fair enough!
He approaches the blue-haired girl slowly, the water making his approach audible.*
Is there something wrong?
*She hasn't...encountered vileness, has she? Someone her age, barely an adult, barely not a child, somewhere in between and with too many years ahead of her to have experienced such a thing.*
no subject
Do you think... [She falters, mid-sentence. If something goes wrong with this, the worst case scenario is she's dead for a day - and will really owe Enoch an apology. The best case, though...]
Do you think you could purify this?
no subject
He reaches out, his hand beginning to glow with a greenish-white light, and begins to pass it slowly over the gem. To his surprise, there's resistance, that same "push" that isn't really a push that keeps him from purifying his weapon as quickly as his hand could move. There's something different about it, though, it may not be vileness as he knows it, but it is a form of corruption at least. His eyes focused on the glint of blue beneath the light now, he tries putting an effort into cleansing it.
If it works, the light will grow, forcing both of them to close their eyes for a bit before it fades. If it doesn't, nothing will happen, save Enoch being a bit tired from the exertion of trying.*
no subject
When that light intensifies - she has to scrunch her eyes closed in order to keep from getting blinded. They snap back open as soon as she's sure it's gone, locking on to the gem to see if it looks any different -
A perfectly clear, bright blue, that she can really only remember seeing a few times before. Suddenly, she feels like her legs don't have the strength to keep her standing anymore. Like they've turned into something wobbly and unusable rather than her good ol' reliable legs. She cradles the cleansed gem carefully in her hands as she slumps down to sit on her knees.
...
That's it, then.
It worked.]
no subject
It's clear that his purification did something, aside from feeling like it - that gem did become brighter. But...what was it?
First things first, making sure that is just relief.*
...Are you all right?
no subject
[She manages to compile herself back together somewhat, after a moment. Sayaka turns the gem back to a ring - this time, the change is accompanied by a perky, higher note.]
You did it. It worked. It's clean, it's...
It worked!
[hey sup enoch you bending down like that put you in perfect range for her to tackle hug you this is too amazing]
no subject
I'm glad I could help you.
*It's clear that it means a lot to her, and the way it changed form and the resistance he'd met...that's not just jewelry.*
But...could I ask you what it is?
no subject
[..well, he helped her. It'd rather wrong of her to get him to clean it and not explain at least a bit. She de-hugs, because explaining soul gem things are kind of a thing that makes her less happy, more shoulder-slump-y.]
It's called, uhm. A soul gem. ..And the name isn't a joke.
no subject
So it's...a soul?
*He doesn't consider immediately it might be hers. A loved one's, perhaps...?*
no subject
..That's right. It's slow, but.. it builds up all dark like that, and if there's too much...
[She crumples a hand into a fist for emphasis.] It breaks.
no subject
...What causes it to corrupt?
no subject
[At the rate she'd been going back home, after all...]
But mostly, it's from using magic. It's like you've been turned into, uh.. [what was the wording Taro had used? Ah, yes--] - A battery.
no subject
That's...your own soul.
no subject
That's right.
no subject
I...How?
no subject
I wanted a miracle to happen. Kyuubey had a miracle to give.
..Eheh. In retrospect, we were all pretty stupid. We thought 'soul gem' was just a name, not that it really meant something.
no subject
So this Kyuubey promised you a miracle if you would allow your soul to become this...? *A quick pause before he realized it wouldn't work.* ...No, if you would allow a soul gem to be created?
*He's not liking the way that sounds...*
