[ During the chaos, Wilhelm hadn't been seen at all, until almost a full hour into the monster flood. Despite the screams, violent shaking of the tower, and the destroyed barrier, Wilhelm seems abnormally calm, staring into his compass. For a while, the video continues like this, until Wilhelm takes a sip of his wine, and calmly moves his hand towards a chess piece, only slightly moving it across the board. ]

It begins.

[ He comments quietly. The room he's in appears to be one of the lower levels of the Tower, clear of monsters, at least for now. There's books, of course - Floor Three? - but Wilhelm seems to have found a rather deserted corner of the room without a whole lot in it, to set up his temporary compass-staring desk. ]

[ Directly to T!Allen: ]

Allen, I will need you to find and collect a few people for me, to ensure they are not harmed. Do you understand?

So then you probably weren't able to see the attack of the giant sky whale... [She takes a seat in a chair nearby, now shrugging off her coat so she can check over her wounds. She figured that while she's here, she can patch herself up before heading out again.]

But how well does the Compass work on the people in the tower?

I knew something had was going to happen, but I was not able to predict that.

[ ... But why doesn't he sound surprised about it? ]

You misunderstand. I am not able to read individual minds, but rather, the collective unconscious, made up of all minds.

[She blinks at him, then at the compass, and then back at Wilhelm again.]

... All minds? So, then you're able to see like... patterns in thought processes or something?

I am able to predict the actions of humanity as a whole. To chart the path humanity will walk. I exist to ensure they survive.

[And now she just stares at him for a few moments.]

... That almost makes you sound like you're a God or something.

For a human, that is a logical conclusion. However, it is inaccurate.

Mutant. [Now she couldn't help but nitpick at the 'human' thing. She glances away as she checks over her wounds some more, though her attention is still mostly on him.]

... Is it okay if I ask what you are?

Mutation is bit a corruption of the DNA code. You are, at your core, human.

[ He's had this talk with Margulis before. And with a few Gnosis. ]

There are many ways to define me. The only one who may do so without error is not currently here.

[She pauses at that, before snickering lightly.]

Well, that's the first time I've heard that. Hope you don't mind if I say I'm a bit skeptical about it just being corruption, though.

[She stops checking over her wounds and leans back in her chair.] ... So, if I called you something like 'guardian of the universe', how far off from the truth would I be?

You would not be the first.

[ Wilhelm takes a seat in another chair, and turns to face April directly. Allen better get back here soon with Haruhi and Tetra. ]

That's a rather grandiose title. And it is only half-true.

[April leans back in her chair a bit more, though she seems restless now.]

Ah, I see... Well, I'll keep brainstorming up ideas until I get something close to the truth.

[She sighs, and glances towards the entrance to the floor.]

... Is anyone else being brought here?

Of course.

[ Wilhelm glances back towards the entrance as well, but quickly turns his gaze back to April. ]

I should hope so.

People are probably scattered all over the tower now, but that masked guy should find them. [April stands up and starts to pull her coat back on, her eyes turning back to him. It's easy to guess what she intends to do.]

So, since I ain't gonna do much just sitting around here, I'll be heading out now.

He will. He knows by now that I have very little tolerance for failure.

[ His eyes then narrow. ]

That is not a good idea.

Why not? [She tilts her head and crosses her arms.] I'm not gonna just sit here while people are getting killed out there.

What matters now is that you survive.

[ In other words: He doesn't care about them. ]

If they are to survive, they will find a way on their own.

Why does it matter? If it's my powers that makes me valuable or whatever, there are other people here who could do the same thing.

[Her eyes narrow, and she uncrosses her arms. Now she's a bit annoyed.]

And I want to help them.

It matters because I did not see them in the Compass. I saw you.

[ He doesn't break eye contact for even a moment. ]

One of the harshest lessons I had to learn in my role of protecting humanity is that I must always focus on what is best for humanity as a whole. If that meant making sacrifices in the short term to protect humanity in the longterm, then that is what I must do.

Why me though? I'm just a mutant who can talk to computers and control electricity.

[If he isn't breaking eye contact, neither is she, even as her hands clench tightly into fists at her sides.]

So what, you want me to just sit here and do nothing, then?

[ Not going to answer that first part. ]

For now, yes. I assure you, though, if the situation worsens, I will have Allen deal with it.

[Her fists tighten even more, and she gives a sharp shake of her head.]

No. I'm going back out there, and that's it. [And this is when she goes to walk past him and towards the floors entrance.]

I'm afraid I can't allow that.

[ He doesn't turn to face her, but he says it before she reaches the staircase. ]

I do not wish to have to force you to stay.

[She pauses at the staircase, not even bothering to face him when she speaks.]

Are you gonna knock me out like that masked guy did before? Cause y'know I'll try to leave again when I wake up.

By the time you would awaken, the monsters would be gone. However, I am not as kind as Allen.

[ He still doesn't turn to face her. Well, this is fun. Talking in opposite directions of one another. ]

[April is just being a stubborn ass who doesn't want to face him. And she audibly huffs to herself.]

... Then what would you do?
