Hello. It's... ah. It's Genda again.

I just want to thank those of you who helped reassure Feferi of herself and stood up for her over the network not long ago.
Seeing so many people stop to cheer up someone I hold dear made my view of this place brighten, if only a little.

So thank you.

... And if the man who said those terrible things to her happens to be watching the network: Feferi and her kind are not monsters.
They're the farthest thing from monsters - even though they are different on the outside, they're people just like us on the inside.

What's on the outside doesn't matter, especially in a place like this.

Even if you don't plan on following them and roping her into one of your limited human romances instead, the least you could do would be to understand her side of it, don't you think?

I will explain.

Troll society has four quadrants of relationship value; matespritship, moirallegiance, kismessitude, and auspiticism. The first two are 'redrom', the last two are 'blackrom'. They are represented by those colors. Matespritship and kismessitude are more intense shades of the color, bright red (flushed) and pure black (caliginous), whereas moirallegiance and auspiticism are pink (pale) and grey (ashen), respectively.

Matespritship is represented by this symbol: <3. For two trolls to be matesprits they simply must have a mutual feeling of attraction towards one another that are not pale in nature.

Moirallegiance is represented by this symbol: <>. It is believed by some that every troll has a fated moirail that they will find somewhere in the world. A moirail's duty is pacifistic; each member of a moirallegiance must help the other troll overcome their shortcomings, while also being open to the other troll's attempts to help them. The definition of 'shortcomings' depends on the troll, but it is usually emotional.

Kismessitude is represented by this symbol: <3<. A kismesis, for a troll, is like a rivalry taken to extremes; the trolls in question will not like one another at all, but will still be physically and mentally attracted.

Auspiticism is represented by this symbol: c3<. This is the only relationship with three individuals involved, but only the third is called an auspitice; the other two have no specific name. They are a third influence that act as facilitator between two quarreling parties, monitoring their interactions and mediating when necessary. Sometimes one or both parties may have black feelings for one another, but the fact of the matter is they are too dangerous to let their hatred run unchecked. (If it helps you to understand, I have heard auspiticism described as a moirail placed between two kismeses.)

[You may notice that the flushed and caliginous sections are much shorter than the other two. Equius simply has no knowledge in that area, being a socially inept failure who literally stumbled into his only quadrant, moirallegiance. And is pointedly denying that he may be literally stumbling into another one.]

Equius is all about convenience.

You did pronounce it correctly.

I gave you the basics. There are some other things, but I'll leave those to Feferi's discretion whether she wants you to know them or not.
