[It takes him all day to muster himself out of his bed to make this post in the dormitory levels. Had he not been slammed with a message about his new "job", he would have kindly stayed in his room for a day or two just to... he wasn't even sure what the right word was. He didn't need to relax. He needed to detox. His journey home had been short, but he hoped and prayed it was just a dream. Only a dream, please just let it be that. But he'd seen the barren landscape, inhaled the putrid, acidic smell of miasma leaking out of every crack and crevice, seas of purple mud and poison all that remained of his world.

Of course he wanted it to be a dream.

Two questions. Feel free to answer or not.

First: How many of you have been back home? As in: how many have returned to what used to be their home, only to come back? What did you see, and did it... feel real?

Second: What are we left with if the worlds we all know are really gone? Is it just us, this Tower, countless years and a few grim expectations?

I really am starting to wonder.

It has concerned me greatly of late as to what "Losing your Soul to the Tower of Animus" may mean. And I am afraid we may be witnessing the first symptoms of such a loss...

[ It's to say the ridiculous amounts of sheer foolishness that can be witnessed all around the tower, especially as of late. It is the first time since May that Gandalf posts something on the network- Nothing surprising considering his dislike of such communication means. But here and now, sending this message is absolutely necessary. ]

Throw yourselves out of the tower next time and rid us of your stupidity )

[Hey, it's that weird chick who shows up every now and then. Surely nothing can go wrong with her delivering a message to the network, right?]

⊗⊚✗◈. ⌔☇⚘♫?

[She looks at other entries, and her expression goes from confused to annoyed.]

☣♠⎌⌘...✗✗♬⚠☢⚙! ✩⏚⏛ - ^%$%^&, ^%$%⌘☢☣☠!

[And then she shuts it off. You can try to speak to her over the network, but the chances of her being able to reply coherently are pretty damn low right now.]

[ooc: For anyone who can understand eldritch horror/starfish speak, what she said was:

"Things have been surprisingly calm this month. Is that normal?"
"Wait a moment...Oh, you've got to be kidding me! The languages - damn it, damn the tower!"

...and yes, she is insulting the Tower as fiercely as a starfish/eldritch speaker can. :)]

-- I'll not be here for long, it seems!

[Solas is on the network, brief and desperate. There's a small wall of vines in the background, blocking any incoming creatures.]

As I was attempting to say - hello to anyone out there, I'm Solas, I'm sure we've spoken before. This....incident is beyond horrible! And the people in charge are humans?! How can they...Well, that doesn't matter. To anyone I've spoken with in the past, are you all right, dears?

[There's a banging on the wall.]

Agh, the point is, if anyone needs safety, I'm in the fifth room on floor 2 - I admit I'm not much of a fighter, but I can put up walls and if anyone needs treatment for their wounds, I can do that too!

[More banging - a crash.]

I'd offer to create candy as well, since that is a thing I can do, but - I don't know, would the admins even accept it? I don't want to cause someone to get killed over- [More crashes.] ...Oh, shoot, I really do need to get out of here now...

[The video cuts out, just as Sola shifts to her alternate form. Somebody's going to be whipping out the vines...]

[ooc: Don't worry, Sola WILL reply! However, her responses might be slow to say the least. Action replies are fine too as far as I'm concerned, but if you wanna try to converse with her over the network...yeah, slow replies.

Also, re: the candy - if you DO ask her for any, the mods already confirmed that it will not help with the quotas. All of my sadness.]

Oh dear, oh dear.

[Hi all, you may or may not recognize the girl making this video. It's Solas, who's shown up before - right now she looks a bit worried, though. Her hair also looks suspiciously...leaf-like, at the moment.

Sola, water you doin'.] I should really keep up with these things more - at any rate, it looks like something big has happened, hasn't it? Between the body switches and...Well, actually, that's why I'm contacting everyone. You see, I am able to...what's the correct term for it...materialize food. I'm quite certain it's nutritious by human standards, though I should warn you in advance that apparently it doesn't taste like what it's supposed to taste like.

I used to provide for an entire city, though it...well, I was linked to the city, and admittedly there weren't quite so many people...so I may not be able to provide everything all the time... [She looks unsure, before shaking her head and setting her face into a determined expression.] Even so, it'll help a bit until the issue of the cafeteria is dealt with, won't it?

I'm assigned to room 2-05 if anyone wants to take me up on that offer, though I tend to stay on the floors with plant life, and oh, my name's Sola by the way.

[After getting her message out, she seems to wind down a little and just...smiles slightly at the camera.]

Hello. It's... ah. It's Genda again.

I just want to thank those of you who helped reassure Feferi of herself and stood up for her over the network not long ago.
Seeing so many people stop to cheer up someone I hold dear made my view of this place brighten, if only a little.

So thank you.

... And if the man who said those terrible things to her happens to be watching the network: Feferi and her kind are not monsters.
They're the farthest thing from monsters - even though they are different on the outside, they're people just like us on the inside.

What's on the outside doesn't matter, especially in a place like this.

[Lina is on the network once again, this time with a proper question rather than overreacting over something.]

I know there's other magic-users here - I'm curious if any of you have tried to use your magic to get out of here. I've tried several times so far - different spells and locations, and only gotten my powers taken away and a lot of shocks for my trouble. [She scowls a bit, then huffs.] That said, trying to get out by force, even if it's magical seems to be a lost cause - so I'm wondering if anyone else might have some kind of alternative methods to consider using. Has anyone tried teleportation magic, for starters?

[After a few moments, there is another, correct text!]

sorry about that!
i am still getting used to this device
and it seems I got it stuck on the wrong

character set, is what it is called, i believe?

is that the correct way to say it? i am not sure

at any rate, greetings to everyone
i would prefer it had not come at the cost of
my world being destroyed, though
but perhaps it was for the best
considering what was about to happen

it is not like i can return anyway

on a less depressing note i was unaware that
oatmeal was supposed to taste this way!
it is very interesting!
i like it very much!!!

[ooc: Sola was actually saying something with the symbols - feel free to hover over them for a translation! If you can speak starfish, feel free to reply to it. :D]
