[A survivor. He has to laugh a little at that. He wants, so badly, to claim he is not just its survivor, but its conqueror. And yet as common as lies we're to him this is something Lucofer can't yet lie about.]

[He hesitates for a moment. The messages are entirely anonymous on his part. There is no way to track him or to see who he is at the moment, and the temptation to state who he is grows stronger and stronger. Still, it wouldn't be impossible for someone to trace this call. To perhaps piece together were it came from and who it came from.

At the same time there's the chance others DO know who he is. Or at least know a Lucifer is in the tower, if some of Aleph's conversations are anything to go on. And they don't point to him personally yet.

Why not. He may as well declare it that he is in fact here, even if it keeps people from knowing who he is.]

[Lucifer. The name sounded... interesting. However, it wasn't a name she was familiar with. Not from her world, anyway. The lonely feeling waved back at her, reminding her that the one who speaks of her birthplace was not one of her world. That she was alone]

*It takes him a few minutes to recall where he had heard 'hell'. Lucifel had used it once as an adjective Enoch took to mean "brutal" or "tenacious", in the sentence, "he'll put up one hell of a fight", but he'd had meaning attached to it at one point that would make this make sense and it kept escaping him. Where else had he heard it? Who else had said it? It had to be in Meridian...

He's sitting there staring at the terminal for a few minutes before giving up. He reads through what he can for context, and all he gets is that it's associated with torment, giving up hope, and agony...

And then it hits him. Naoya had said it, briefly. Before implying and then outright stating that Armaros deserved-...

....Enoch realizes he's tensed up, fists clenched tight. He takes a deep breath and forces himself to relax. He had no idea the memory of that conversation would still affect him so strongly.

....Right then. This person must have meant it metaphorically, like Lucifel had used it. Because were it literal, "repetition" would be very...tame, for it.*

It is true that hardship can make one stronger. I doubt that is our hosts' intent here, but if we continue to stand together, they may well have more than they thought they would in their tower.

I think it is a bit too early to talk with any authority on our gracious host's "intents". It very well may be, considering how little we know of them.

And hardship itself is a creature that is hard to explain. It may break one, and strengthen another. It offers, in its way, a manner to define who we are.
