[video] ⚙ soul phrase
I ain't sure walkin' around swingin' axe blades at anybody behind me is all that safe. But I can't really just stick anythin' on there and hope for the best.
What do people usually use if they wanna put some kinda guard on a weapon? [Counting off the following points on metallic fingers:] It's gotta be somethin' that ain't gonna get in the way of the thrusters, easy t' get off in an emergency, and lightweight so it don't throw me off balance.
[Monomaru what have you done.]
What d'you guys think?

[Labrys stepped back from the camera and turned around, showing the folded axe blades fixed to her back somewhat like wings.]
Basically it's got mechanisms in it that I can use to fly as long as it's attached t' me like this.
Re: [Video]
It lets you fly?
[Yeah, that's not helping.]
T-that's amazing, though I'm not so sure why I find it so hard to believe. I didn't have that much trouble when you told me about what you were after all.
We definitely need to spend some time fighting together. I would really like to see how you use it.
Unfortunately, it is far to odd a weapon for me to help you with your question. I'm sorry. It's a shame you cannot just summon and unsummon it like servants can with their weapons.
[Labrys paused, something almost visibly clicking in her head.]
Hang on a second, you're a Servant? Y' don't know Hakuno, do ya?
Re: [Video]
[He pauses a moment to think, then shakes his head.]
Hakuno, you said? No, I don't believe I've met someone by that name. Is she a master or servant herself?
She's a Master--real nice girl, too.
Re: [Video]
Is it safe to announce that Hakuno is a master over a system such as this, though? If she is as kind as you say, that might make her a target. Or does she have someone watching out for her? A servant of her own, perhaps?
[geez, Labrys.]
I think she's okay. Far as I know she's got Saber with her, somewhere.
Re: [Video]
[Labrys folded her arms, head tilted thoughtfully after those words.]
I'm kinda curious. What's it like, bein' a Servant and all? Not t' ask the same question ya asked me, but are all of ya okay with stuff like that?
Re: [Video]
[Lancer seems surprised, but he has been told Saber has changed and the blond hair is right, so he just shrugs it off and moves onto her next question.]
It's not really something we have that much choice in, though I suppose if you asked most servants the answer to that question would be yes. We...we aren't actually real if you want to be technical. I'm just a copy of a hero's soul that was recorded to the Throne of Heroes after he died. When that soul is called into a war or needed for some other reason, the copy of it is made and sent to Earth. Once whatever they are needed for is done, they return to the Throne of Heroes...
..and are erased so that the main soul isn't changed. I really don't see how that is fair especially for a servant who worked so hard--copy or not--to get their wish. What is the point then? It's not like they will be able to remember they got it!
[He pauses to take a deep breath and shakes his head.]
Perhaps I'm just odd to wonder about these things. Honestly, I shouldn't be here. The war ended for me. I shouldn't be having the chance to question these things, and yet here I am.
And I guess that is why I reacted the way I did when you told how you had been made and just expected to do something your whole life without being asked. It's a little to similar too a servant's fate for my comfort.
[Labrys was quiet after that, though her gaze was focused and clearly in deep thought about everything he'd said and the implications of it.]
I ain't anybody special--there were thirty other girls just like me once. All a' us were built for the same purpose and even looked pretty similar. We were all pretty much expendable long as the guys that built us could get their end result. They even tried t' erase my memories when I turned on 'em.
And a lotta times I wonder what put me ahead of the other thirty. I know some a' them were smarter than me or talked different or had a more advanced personality, but I'm the one that ended up lastin'. Maybe I ain't ever gonna know if it was much more than fate or chance that picked me over the others, but we weren't just copied and pasted thirty-one times over. Even if we were built the same, all a' us were different somehow.
I guess what I'm sayin' is...You're real t' me, ya know. [She nodded as if to punctuate the thought. Her programming never included much of a concept of dishonesty or hesitation; when Labrys spoke about important matters like this, she only ever knew how to do so plainly and with the utmost sincerity.]
Re: [Video]
Who would have guessed that such an advanced robot and an ancient Irish hero would have so much in common?
Lancer takes a deep breath and smiles at her. Now that the shock has begun to pass, it's easy to see the joy in his eyes.]
I have no idea how to thank you for that, Labrys. To hear you say that is...
[He stops and shakes his head.]
...it's a gift I don't think I will ever be able to repay. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I just wish there was something I could do for you--something to help lessen your pain, but you seem to have worked through so much of it and grown stronger all ready. I can only hope I have the chance to do the same thing.
There is one thing I do know, though, and that is you are special. It might not be something you or I can name that makes you so, but you are unique and wonderful all on your own. Don't ever doubt that.
C'mon, it ain't as great as all that. If I got any tougher from the stuff I've been through, it's 'cause I had friends helpin' me out. I'm just tryin' to do the same for anybody else lookin' for it.
You're just as special as me or anybody else, Lancer. So don't get too down on yourself, alright?
Re: [Video]
I will certainly try. This is all very new to me--the idea that I will have enough time to have friends again and things like that. I don't think it's going to be easy working through all of the emotion, though. I honestly don't know if we were made to worry about these kinds of things, but I am still going to try.
Please be patient with me if it takes awhile. This is all very new to me and I'm only just starting to make the friends I will need to get through all of it.
[He pauses a moment and then laughs.]
How did we ever get from talking about your axe, to this? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to derail your inquiry so much.
Don't worry 'bout it. I like gettin' to know people better, so I ain't mad about going off track.
Re: [Video]
[He pauses and shakes his head to draw himself out of the past.]
I don't know if I know how to make friends anymore, but I would like to think maybe we are moving in that direction....
[He stops suddenly and blushes just a little in embarrassment.]
...if you don't mind that is.
[Labrys laughed at that, clearly amused by his reaction.]
Don't be silly. Course we're friends, if you wanna be.
Re: [Video]
I do. It's actually a relief to find someone who is as honest as I am. I've had so many people tell me that I should be less so since I got here. They say it will only get me hurt, but I can't help but continue to be so. It is who I am, who I have always been.
