Hey so can somebody tell me what's going on and make it make sense?

Also any way to get cigarettes here, ran out a long time ago and it fucking sucks.

[There's no further response from John as he too has abandoned his terminal for the meetup. He waits in the middle of the meadow, playing fetch with a small black and red fox-like creature.]

[He glances towards the stairs whenever the fox bounds after the stick, though it suddenly dawns on him that he has no idea who he's looking for. Good job, Egbert, way to think this one through. Oh well, at least he can match the voice.]

[When he notices Oowada, he offers the other boy a friendly wave and a smile. Even if this isn't the guy he's looking for, it never hurts to be friendly.]

[The Zorua yips happily, all too glad to accept ear scratches. Because ear scratches are basically the best.]

Guilty as charged. My name is John Egbert, pleasure to meet you. Sorry about all the vagueness, but I didn't want to be too specific over the network. You know, just in case.

Heh, somehow I get the feeling that's going to be more of a thing from here on out. Anyway... [He pauses, pulling out what looks like a red cellphone from a front pocket of his fannypack.] You probably got this part but Dax left the admin elevator open about a week ago and a bunch of us snuck down there. It's kind of a long story but while we were down there we actually saw them do the whole soul extraction-and-reanimation thing.

[He flips the device open, tapping at the screen a few times.] I caught it on tape. So if you need to see it to believe it, this is your chance. [He holds the Pokegear out to Oowada, the video paused but otherwise ready to go. He's seen it more than enough times at this point, no need to wait for him to play it for you dude.]

[He chuckles quietly at the smart comment. It's not typically a comment he hears and to be honest he feels more lucky than anything. Especially now that he's out of that place.]

[He's silent while the tape plays, bending down to idly pet his Zorua as a distraction. But it's hard not to see the scene in his mind's eye even if he's not watching the screen. So when it gets to the portion of the tape where he left it running and captured a lot of nothing, he straightens back up and takes the 'gear back, stopping the video and turning it off.]

There's nothing but shots of walls and feet after that point. I left it running thinking there would be more for us to see but we ran into Jason instead. From the sounds of things, he's the one who actually puts the souls back in once they've been strained out. Did that help at least?

Hehehe, it's no problem. I'm happy to help.

[Especially since this was basically the only useful thing he did down there. Like hell is he not going to share this tape after all the trouble they went through.]

Oh, if you happen to know or talk to anybody else who needs a little bit of seeing is believing action, you can send them my way. Dorm 1-12.

Hehe, thanks Mondo I appreciate it. [A beat.] Err...it is alright if I call you that, right? [He's never 100% sure what is and isn't alright when it comes to Japanese people.]

In any case, I'll probably end up saying something about it on the network if I can figure out a way to word it in a way that doesn't paint a giant target on my forehead. Because I know if it were me, I'd have a little trouble understanding it without seeing it. And it seems like a waste to have even taken it if I don't share it, you know?

That's a good idea! I'd do that if it...weren't for the fact that they have us under video surveillance. So I'm not sure that that's any safer than broadcasting over the network.
