[While seeming oddly distracted, there is a smile on Diarmuid's face when he addresses the Network.]

My thanks to all those who helped with making copies of the Tower Floor Guide in the library over the last few days. While I don't know how long the copies posted to the actual floors will last, hopefully we will more easily be able to keep copies in the libraries, cafeteria, and lounges so that when people need them, they can find them. It probably goes without saying, but my thanks also goes out to those who have offered to watch and replenish the stacks should they get low.

As I mentioned in my last post, once the physical copies were made I wanted to put a copy of the guide onto the Network so that we have at least one permanent copy. That is what this post is for.

In the end, I decided to keep the presentation of the information simple so we could get in as much as possible. Anyone who looks over the guide and notices missing or incorrect information, please let me know by posting here. Posts can be made anonymously since I know that the things these floors do to us are often very painful and personal in nature. I will update all information as soon as I can once it is posted.

Anyone who wishes to repost this information as new people arrive, please feel free to do so. I want it to be kept where as many people as possible can see it. My thanks goes out to those who have volunteered to watch over this post to keep it from being tampered with.

The Tower Floor Guide

Because of events that will happen in game after this post, while I will be tagging responses right away, please consider none of them having ICly come until late on the 21st/early on the 22nd. [Lancer takes the blow to the knee. He winces, but doesn't stop or back away. His spear has now come up for a second thrust.]

[The fact that his brother not only takes the blow, but doesn't react to it at all startles Diarmuid. While he doesn't want to back off, that startled moment distracts him just long enough that he has to in order to avoid being hit by his brother's spear. He leaps back once to dodge the swing, but before he even really lands, he leaps back in at his brother.

Actually, the leap is over his brother, and once he hits the ground, Diarmuid moves in low at his brother swinging, again, at his legs with Gae Dearg.]

[When he senses Diarmuid landing behind him, Lancer halts his advance, spins on his heel, and swings his spear backwards in a slashing motion. He doesn't even aim. He's just trying to hit Diarmuid somewhere before Diarmuid's own attack can connect.]

[Since he is already low because he was aiming for his brother's legs, he drops lower to avoid the wild swing. However, that forces him to abandon his swing at Cu Chulainn's legs. Instead, as low as he is, he takes a chance and moves closer to his brother under the swing, his spear suddenly angled up at his the other servant's chest.]

[With his spear swung out too far to come back in time, Lancer has to flip backwards to avoid the attack.]

Not bad, brother.

[As he speaks, he starts giving off his killing intent. Maybe he's a little too into this match...]

Of course...do you really expect anything less from me?

[Diarmuid smirks at his brother. Perhaps he should be worried by the rise in his brother's killing intent, but instead of being worried, his own intent just rises to meet it. It's been a long time since he has been able to fight for real...

...and they both can handle it. They will know when to stop when that time comes. Of that he has no doubt.]

[There's no answer. Lancer has charged again, this time thrusting his spear at Diarmuid's face.]

[Diarmuid should have expected the sudden, aggressive charge. After all, they are something his brother does a lot--especially when he is caught up in a fight. However, a part of Diarmuid had been expecting this fight to go as their others had. Exchange, talk, reset and exchange again. It's a foolish mistake--one he would not normally make--and one that might be fatal if he doesn't move...now.

He's fast, but so is his brother and in the end, he can't completely dodge the charge. The best he can do is move so that the blow is glancing instead of full to the face.

Still, he can't help but gasp as he feels the blade of his brother's spear grind across his cheekbone as he's moving away. Once he has put some distance between them, his hand goes to his face, to cover the deep wound that is currently gushing blood.]

I'm not so sure that was the best way to go about ridding me of my curse, brother...

[So much for knowing when to stop.]

[Lancer goes pale and dematerializes his spear.]

B-brother? Are you alright?

[He cautiously takes a step forward.]

It missed my eye. Don't worry.

[Diarmuid hisses as he pulls his hand away from the wound. The bleeding doesn't seem to be slowing, which doesn't really surprise him since he knows head wounds bleed like crazy no matter how small--or large--they are.]

I won't lie. I can't say that I've missed the feel of a blade scraping across bone though...

I'm sorry.

[Even as he apologizes, he has to let out a sigh of relief.]

Let me see the wound.

Don't be. It's my fault for letting my concentration slip.

[Diarmuid tilts his head so that his brother can see the wound better. There is a long, ugly, slanting gash across his cheekbone starting low near his nose and ending higher just shy of his ear and uncomfortably close to his eye. It goes all the way down to the bone.

And has, conveniently, obliterated that troublesome mole of his. It's a shame that won't stop the curse from activating...]

Good luck seeing it with all that blood. Man... I'm making a mess...

[He frowns as he sees the big wound. One hand goes to wipe away the blood.]

It's not your fault. I forgot we were sparring.

[And even worse, he had made it with Gae Bolg. Its curse was such that wounds made by the spear were very hard to heal, if they could be healed at all.]

[Diarmuid hisses under his breath when his brother wipes away the blood. Not that it does much good since more soon replaces it.]

Gae Bolg's curse is still active, right? We need to find a way to stop the bleeding...if that is even possible.

[He doesn't keep arguing with his brother about whose fault it is right now since Diarmuid knows Cu Chulainn won't listen. Maybe he will be able to get him to listen later, but it's not going to happen when there are more important things to be dealt with.]

Yeah, it is.

[He's already working on drawing his runes.]

Sorry if this is gonna take a while. First time I've actually tried to cure a wound from Gae Bolg before.

Don't worry. Take your time.

[Diarmuid starts to nod, but stops himself so that he doesn't jar the wound or interrupt his brother's work.]

It doesn't need to be pretty. It just needs to not be bleeding. If it scars, it scars.

[He nods, but says nothing since he's so concentrated on working. Runes sketched in various patterns surround Diarmuid's face, working on breaking the curse. Or at least weakening it so Diarmuid's own magic resistance can take over.]

[Diarmuid remains silent allowing his brother to work. Right now the fact that he could have also been called as Saber is working to his advantage because it means his magic resistance is stronger than that most Lancers would have. In fact, after a few moments he feels a shift like something might be happening.]

Did you feel that too? I think maybe...

Yeah, I think it's working!

[He pulls his hands away from Diarmuid's face.]

It doesn't hurt so much now.

[Diarmuid shifts slightly, but stops when he's hit with a shock of pain.]

Or maybe it does... Is it still bleeding?

It's still open. Gonna need to give it some time to scar over, I guess.

I am not going to complain about a scar considering the weapon that gave me that scar.

[Diarmuid tries to smile, but quickly stops when the movement sends pain through his face.]

Not so pretty now, am I? Waver is going to have a fit when he sees it.

[Maybe because he's so relieved, Lancer break out laughing. He only answers after he finishes catching his breath.]

What are you talking about? A scar just makes you look more intriguing.

[Diarmuid smiles slightly at his brother's laughter, since that is all he can do without causing himself pain.]

Glad to see you laughing, but might I point out I really don't need to have people finding me more interesting than they already do? Besides, even if I did, the lecture I am probably going to get is going to make me forget all about that.

What were you thinking, you bloody idiot? You could have lost your eye. You shouldn't...blah blah...

[He's trying to do an impression of Waver's voice and failing miserably.]

[And at this, Lancer laughs harder. So hard, in fact, that he chokes. After some coughing, he looks up at Diarmuid again.]

Well, now I know who to avoid for the next couple of days. If he's gonna lecture you, who knows what he's gonna do to me.
