Are meaningless items the common reward for enduring the trials this place has to offer, or is there a deeper significance to these things?

You've probably noticed the countdown on the terminals, though. That's the countdown until we all die, and I'm not exaggerating.

It's hard to be entirely complacent when you have a countdown until your doom hanging over your head.

If anything, such a countdown should be an impetus to act. Why sit and beoman your fate?

I did tell you about the countdown. We've got a finite amount of time, this needs to be an all hands on deck sort of thing.
