Are meaningless items the common reward for enduring the trials this place has to offer, or is there a deeper significance to these things?

My apologies if this question has been asked every time there are new people about. Please feel free to make your responses as pedantic as this question must be.

who knows

people randomly get things from home all the time around here. theyre either being used to mess with us or someone genuinely wants us to have our things back

I find this varies, depending on how much significance one is willing to attach to such items.

[After all, he's had regains that have been useful. Like a certain Fire Materia that's growing nicely from it's use now.]

It really depends. Sometimes they're just nice to have, sometimes they have a deep significance... and sometimes they're made to scare you or upset you.

[And yes, Ryoji has received all of the types.]

Couldn't tell you.

I've only ever gotten items with a lot of meaning in them.

[Given that both of the items he has been given have been pretty traumatic, well, he just has bad luck.]

Probably a good thing if they mean nothing to you.
