Ψiioniic tried not to feel too awkward or hesitant as he knocked on Sollux's door. It wasn't just the fact that his Descendant had offered to let him use his recuperacoon, an intimacy normally reserved only for matesprits and maybe a close kismesis.

But there was also the fact that the last time Sollux had messaged him to tell him to come over, his Descendant had ended up KILLING him. And Ψiioniic didn't hold that against him, he really didn't. Plus, this time he had full control of his powers and would be perfectly capable of defending himself.

Still, it was hard not to be a little nervous.

Sollux still felt bad about that, even if he wasn't as tortured with guilt about it as Signless. But he was fairly pragmatic, and figured that if Psiioniic forgave him, that was good enough for him. He certainly didn't bear his ancestor any ill will, and he doubted anyone who shared so many traits with him would pretend to forgive him only to come up here and murder him.

So it was only with a bit of hesitation that he opened the door and smiled up at the taller mutant troll. "Uh, come on in," he said, stepping back and gesturing at the slightly cluttered room.

There was the beginnings of a new silicomb in the corner, slowly growing and buzzing with a couple of bees. The recuperacoon sat beside the sleeping rectangle, filled with red and blue sopor.

Trying not to look with too much obvious longing at the blue and red sopor, Ψiioniic came into the respite block. He blinked at the silicomb, and smiled. "What are you even growing it for? Did you get your handth on a computer after all?" The soft hum of the bees was familiar, soothing.

"No, not yet," Sollux said with a sigh. "I tried to get one, and altho to get partth for one, but no luck yet. But I figure when I finally do figure out a way to athhemble a new huthktop for mythelf, I'll be ready."

He sat down on his sleeping rectangle. "Are you okay? You look a lot better than the latht time I thaw you."

"I feel a fuck of a lot better," Ψiioniic willingly admitted. "I've got my powerth back, all working properly. No more confusion between future and present." He moved over to examine the growing silicomb, ignoring the bees that buzzed around him a little louder as he invaded their space. He knew how to handle them, and if they got too aggressive he could put them to sleep easily enough. "If you ever get your handth on a computer, I want one too," he said, more than a little wistful.

"That'th good," Sollux said, his eyes dropping a bit, but Psiioniic said he felt better, so that WAS good. There was a part of him that was glad that it was his ancestor who'd been taken instead of him. After all, if they wanted someone with those particular characteristics, they'd had two to choose from.

"I'll let you know. I tried to take apart the computerth in the library but the Thee pee you wathn't there anywhere. And I altho tried to dithmantle the video game contholeth to get partth, and I kept forgetting what I wath doing halfway through and wandering away."

That had been creepy as fuck.

"Huh. I hadn't thought of going after the video game contholes," Ψiioniic said thoughtfully. "I wonder if one of uth stood at the door and kept turning the other back, if that would work. Of courthe, if we actually manage to dismantle them, we might have a riot on our handth from other bored residents."

"Maybe," Sollux said. "Might be worth a try. Or maybe we'll both forget. I don't get why that keepth happening, either. But we don't lothe anything by trying it out."

He bared his teeth a little. "They can pry the huthktop from my cold, dead handth."
