But he was still nervous about getting found and killed, and then there was fighting, and then there was recovering, and to be honest, he sort of forgot??? Luckily, the Highblood was good enough to remind him about it with that horrible braying nonsense the other day. He's annoyed, both that there are threats being made and that, apparently, this is something that needs to be announced at all. But… what can he do. Aliens, and all that…]

There are so many places out there that you never know what kind of people you might find. [Like half-people.]

[She stares back, also careful. It's not exactly something she likes to advertise, but he did ask... and really, with so many different kinds of people in the tower, what's one more? Still,]

[She regards him quietly for a moment. He pretty much just gave her a way to cop out, but... now she thinks she'd feel kind of bad if she did. Truthfully, the biggest problem she has with telling people she's a Nobody comes in the implications thereof - that she has no heart, no feelings, no capability for friendship, that she's not supposed to exist. There's always some part of her afraid that she'll be abandoned for it, despised for it, and what's worse is that she wouldn't be able to say that they were wrong to do so. Why care about someone who can't care for you back? Telling people things like that only seems to upset them.]

[But all of those things are implications that need not be implied, guilty though she may feel about holding her tongue regarding them. Surely she can at least explain to him one of the many kinds of 'other things' he might find.] ...In my world, there are... monsters that steal people's hearts. When that happens, if the person's will is strong enough, their body and soul continue to live on. Normally, they lose their human form.
