i knoww she asked a similar question a the collectivve you about troll romance but she didnt tell me until later an i hadnt thought to ask myself so i wwant to keep this on the dowwn loww for obvvious reasons

[His expression turns crafty and he steps closer, twirling his knife in his fingers ostentatiously]

My matesprit did a little trick, so you can't hurt me wwith your powwers. Levvel the playin' field, so to speak.

[Sollux snarled and tried to fire off another psionic attack, still with about as much success as the first time.]

[Eridan laughed and reached out to grab Sollux' shirt and tug him closer, his knife forgotten now]

Scared, highblood? You only wwanted to be my kismesis wwhen it wwas safe? Just a little fuckin' illicit thrill, slumming it up wwith a vviolent blood - but it's okay, because if he gets uppity you can alwways put him dowwn wwith your psionics. That's wwhat you figured, right?

[And he kisses him, hard, all teeth]

[He whimpers slightly, biting back with just as much force. Though he has to admit, he is a little scared all of a sudden. Eridan is quite a bit stronger than him physically, and evidently he has a really powerful matesprit who can do shit like negate his fucking abilities somehow. But fuck if he's letting Eridan feel smug about that.]

Go fuck yourthelf, I'm not scared.

[Oh wow, he is scared. It's like all of his dreams are coming through. Sollux will definitely not stop hating him after this.

Eridan tugs him towards his own sleeping rectangle, dragging him by the collar of his shirt]

Don't wworry, Sol~ I wwon't hurt you too bad.

The only way you'll thleep with me is if I can't fight back?! What the fuck is wrong with you! [There was a definite note of panic rising in Sollux's voice. He grabbed Eridan's wrist and tried to pull away from him, cursing over his skinny arms more and more every second.]

[Way to make him feel guilty, Sollux. Eridan pauses, flushing purple, his fins pressed tight against the sides of his face]

I thought you wwanted to sleep wwith me! All I did wwas levvel things, so you can't use your psionics against me. So I can fight back against you!

Of courthe I do, idiot! I've only been trying for how long?! [Oh, wait, Eridan's doing that weird sad-fin thing he does. Sollux decides to dial back his anger a few clicks.] It'th jutht... Now I can't fight back againtht you. ...You could have jutht athked you know.

There's still things you can do! [Okay, maybe it's not that smart to be giving him tips, but he is now terrified that Sollux is going to dump him instead of hating him more, so he's throwing caution to the winds] You only can't be intendin' to hurt me. It's not like your powwers don't wwork at all! You'vve just gotta get creativve.

I figured this'd be more interestin' to you, anywway, if I can actually fuckin' do somethin' as your kismesis. I don't wwant you to get bored!

Tho. I can thtill...? [He powers up his psionics again, this time just trying to keep Eridan in place, a smirk widening on his face.]

[Hang on. Eridan's eyes widen with nervousness as the power settles around him, and he struggles against it]

Wwhat are you doin'?!

Jutht tethting thomething. [He releases Eridan, only to grab him again, lifting him into the air] Thith ith more fun, you're right.

[Okay, Eridan no longer feels guilty for making Sollux feel scared. Not guilty at all. In fact, he hates him even more, and is getting really scared himself. He yells and struggles against the bonds]

Put me dowwn!!

[He keeps lifting Eridan higher, his smile widening, until the tips of the seatroll's horns touch the ceiling.] You thure you thtill want me to put you down? [It was sort of like black flirting, sure. But it was more that Sollux just wanted to make sure Eridan remembered who was in charge here, and to not pull some shit like that ever again.]

[Eridan was definitely remembering that Sollux was in charge. How had he been so stupid as to think that a puny thing like preventing Sollux from using his powers to harm Eridan could have done anything to change that? All it's done is piss off the gold blood, and now Eridan is really scared of what he'll do as retribution.]

Yes, I wwant you to put me dowwn. Please! [He swallows a whimper and the last of his dignity] Highblood...

[With a self satisfied smirk, Sollux releases his psionics. ...Making Eridan just fall. Right before the seatroll hits the ground however, he grabs him again, and sets him down gently.]

You don't have to beg like a little wriggler, jeguth. You're not going to try and get any other artifactth made tho I can't uthe my powerth, are you?

[Eridan yelps and nearly collapses when he's set on the floor, glaring and baring his teeth at Sollux as the powers finally set him free. He sits down on the edge of his sleeping rectangle again, looking angry and sullen]

Wwhat if I did? Then you wwouldn't be able to do anything to me at all, you fuckin' scrawwny asshole!

[Sollux sags just a little bit at the look on Eridan's face. He probably just ended up accidentally cockblocking himself, goddamn it.]

...Too far?

[He growls, though the way Sollux sags is gratifying]

Maybe I wwent too far, too.

I think I probably detherved that. [He straightens back up, folding his arms over his chest.] Tho... How have you been holding up?

[The question startles him a bit, and he looks up, that sullenness dropping away and replaced by confusion]

Really...good? I mean, I'm unbelievvably happy wwith Wwill, though I wwish wwe wweren't in this towwer in general.

...Wwhat about you, Sol?

I'm glad. [And honestly, he was. Willow actually did seem to be pretty okay, and from what Sollux could tell, she seemed pretty happy to be with Eridan.]

Not too terrible. [He sighed heavily] I'm thort of worried about that guy who lookth kind of like you. Thcarfathe or whatever hith name ith.

Dualscar. [He pauses, then pats the bed beside him in invitation] He's my ancestor, you knoww. Wwhat's got you wworried about him?

Well for thtarterth, I'm pretty fucking thure he wantth me dead.

[Eridan stiffens. Is Dualscar moving in on his kismesis? Fuck. Fuck! What is he going to do now?] Wwhat? Wwhy does he wwant you dead?

[He gets to his feet, reaching for Sollux, to put his arms around him. Maybe he can give him a little something...just something, to remind him that Sollux wants HIM as his kismesis, not his ancestor]
