[On the screen is a small girl, looking about 13, dressed in green and far away from her home. Her eyes glance down a few times, reading the piece of paper in her lap and following its every instruction. Clearly the word technology is foreign to her, let alone the ability to use it.]

Good thing the letter is so thorough, I would've never learned to use this by myself. Of course, I could always be talking to myself instead. I really hope not.

[She lets out a small nervous laugh, but she really does mean it. Just knowing anyone else was out there.]

It's so quiet here, I can't hear anything. Not even the faintest calling from the spirits. Everything here is so cold and hard, so different from the forest. It's actually a little scary...but I guess it's the way things have to be.

[Her eyes saddened a little. This was all real, she could feel it deep down. But then there was always a harder truth to accept.]

What that letter said, about home being destroyed, I don't believe it's a lie. After all, everything passes in time. But for there to have been so little left...I failed in my duties. I'm so sorry everyone.

[As a Sage, she should've been able to see this destruction come. She should've been able to do something...]

Is that so? I'm glad she isn't that old, I wouldn't have been able to recognize her. [She had no idea the princess had a child. Let alone a lineage.] Thank you for letting me know.

The Koriri are the children of the forest. We've live under the protection of the Great Deku Tree for generations. Surely you must've heard of him.

Oh yeah, I heard'a him! No Kokiri though, he's got the Koroks. At least, he does now anyway.

The Koroks? I've never heard of them. [Strange. She thought she knew all the creatures that lived in the forest.] What are they like?

I only visited once but they were little tree people. Like, they actually looked like little trees. Link knows more about 'em than I do since he visited the island more than I have. The small Link I mean, he call himself 'Sea' here since there's a bunch'a other Links here too.

Island? [Okay this world is very different.] You are from Hyrule, right?

Hyrule got flooded by the goddesses a long time ago. And the king wished on the Triforce that it would go away and everything.

I'm workin' on finding somewhere to start New Hyrule though!

The goddesses did that? [They were powerful. Very powerful. But what could compel them to flood Hyrule?] I'm sorry, this is the first I've ever heard of a flood.

[How many people lost their homes, their families, even their lives?]

[But the Great Deku Tree survived.]

[And this girl was on her own journey.]

So if you are decended from Princess Zelda's line, you must be...

Yep, they did. A few hundred years ago or something like that. Ganondork tried taking over again and since there was no hero that time, the goddesses flooded the kingdom and sent everyone to the mountains to survive. Well, almost everyone. I guess some people never made it but they did their best.

[Tetra grins and tucks her hands behind her head.]

I'm one'a the latest Zelda's in the family line but my mom named me Tetra. Didn't stop the king guy from calling me Zelda though, or Ganon, but whatever.

...So he really did return. [Her voice grew somber at the mention of his name...no matter how mockingly it sounded. The evil king. The one who entered the Sacred Realm, spread darkness over Hyrule, corrupted the temples, and was finally sealed away.]

[The goddesses were right in their decision, no matter how tragic it seemed.]

[Looking back up to the girl, Saria's expression lightened. She seemed so different from the Princess Zelda Saria knew. But she was of the royal line, and deserved respect.]

If that's the name you prefer, I hope you don't mind if I call you by it. I am Saria, the Sage of the Forest. It's an honor to meet you Tetra.

Yeah, and he's here in the tower now. Even though my Link jammed the Master Sword into his head. I guess this time travel stuff is meein' everything up.

[Tetra grins and waves at her through the video.]

Nice t'meet ya Saria! Call me whatever you feel like calling me, I just been Tetra most of my life until I found out I was a princess.

I-I guess... [More or less jarring how nonchalant Tetra is about it.]

Well, news like that is pretty big. It's not always very easy to just accept.

What's it like? Being a pirate? [You only hear stories, y'know.]

It's pretty great! No one ever tells you what to do, 'cept your captain. And I'm the captain of my ship so no one ever tells me what to do. And you've always got the wide open sea all around you and the salty air.

It's pure freedom and nothin' but.
