[ After much hesitation on his part to even look at the odd device given to him by his captors, the proud marchwarden allows his curiosity to get the better of him. He tinkers with this odd stone for a moment or two before his confused image suddenly appears upon screen. Looking quite unsure and almost fearful of this object, Haldir speaks in a low hushed tone. ]

Mani naa ta? [ He murmured to himself, not entirely sure if this weird stone was active or not.] I've seen anything like it before...

Is this some sort of sorcery?

[ Still studying this odd thing with curious gaze, Haldir accidentally sets the communicator upside down as he speaks into it. ]

Hello? Does this ridiculous thing truly work?

[ A frustrated sigh escaped him as he rests his chin in his hands. ]

I see no point in these devices. Are we meant to use them for our amusement? If so, I am not easily amused.

[ It is mumbled, and Sasori has the slightest of smirks going on just then. He was bored. ]

We can see and hear you fine. The device is meant for communication.

[ Not quite hearing the previously mumbled words, Haldir seemed more than pleased to see that this strange device is functioning well. ]

Likewise, it seems. This odd stone might be useful after all.

...Were 'stones' the means of communication in your world? [ Now that would be an odd stone~ ]

No, of course not but this..."thing" before me looks like a stone of some kind. If only vaguely at best. It certainly seems as hard as one.

[ In his world, communication came in the form of your basic letter. There's nothing in all of Middle-earth that matches the strange technology that he sees here.

Nothing besides "magic", of course. ]

It's a computer. I doubt it is made of stone, but perhaps of various conductors, insulators and, I suspect, semi-conductors.

[ He smiles, though just barely, aware that he too had not known what the computer was meant to do until he accidentally spammed the network with inappropriate emoticons... ]

I suspect that this method is easier to intercept than, let's say, telepathy. [ Which was the means of large scale communication in his world. They did have computers, but relied less on them and more on personalized techniques that didn't always come with a cheat sheet. ]
