[ After much hesitation on his part to even look at the odd device given to him by his captors, the proud marchwarden allows his curiosity to get the better of him. He tinkers with this odd stone for a moment or two before his confused image suddenly appears upon screen. Looking quite unsure and almost fearful of this object, Haldir speaks in a low hushed tone. ]
Mani naa ta? [ He murmured to himself, not entirely sure if this weird stone was active or not.] I've seen anything like it before...
Is this some sort of sorcery?
[ Still studying this odd thing with curious gaze, Haldir accidentally sets the communicator upside down as he speaks into it. ]
Hello? Does this ridiculous thing truly work?
[ A frustrated sigh escaped him as he rests his chin in his hands. ]
I see no point in these devices. Are we meant to use them for our amusement? If so, I am not easily amused.

Yes, it is functional.

[ Falling silent for just a moment, Haldir then peers closer into the screen to get a better look at the red head. The humans of this realm look so odd to him. ]
How is such sorcery possible?
no subject
It is technology, not sorcery. [Brief pause.] If you are a new arrival, instructions were given on how to navigate the network.

[ Now that's a word he heard briefly before from another person, but be damned if he knows what that means. ]
Aye, I've seen the instructions but this is the first time I've put them to use.

Re: Video
Odd. I wonder how it's possible for me to not only hear you but see you as well.

[ He stares at Aleph with a look of pure skepticism. ]
That explains nothing.

[ It is mumbled, and Sasori has the slightest of smirks going on just then. He was bored. ]
We can see and hear you fine. The device is meant for communication.
Likewise, it seems. This odd stone might be useful after all.
...Were 'stones' the means of communication in your world? [ Now that would be an odd stone~ ]
[ In his world, communication came in the form of your basic letter. There's nothing in all of Middle-earth that matches the strange technology that he sees here.
Nothing besides "magic", of course. ]

[ The Elf arched his brow. ]
What kind of information? Is there anything that this device has that might be useful in my plight to escape from here?
[ video ]
Though, let me get the guide for you.
[ There's a small file appearing titled welcometotower.tdoc. ]
Go ahead and read through it.
[ video ]
[ Becoming honestly a tad disheartened now, Haldir reluctantly reads the guide that the girl offered him. It does prove to be a useful source of information but the one thing he really wants to know seems to be barred from him. ]
If escape is impossible, then why is it that some "come" and "go" so frequently?

Majima Goro, was it? I see you're adjusting to life here quite well, and "No." I'm not enjoying it.
Voice.
I have you to thank for the adjustin'.
Yeah, but gotta eat it. Tried to eat somethin' else and vomited all over. I'm lucky I don't wear a shirt. But still, ya got that fancy armor... I don't think that'd be fun to clean up.

geez, you went and got a serious answer out of me. I feel icky.
Voice.
It's a tad worrisome. ]
Forgive me but such a wondrous tool doesn't exist within my homeland.
[text]
you ain't the first person in the tower who doesn't know what a computer is, it's kind of common. around where I'm from though, computers are even more ~super duper spectacular~! (☆^O^☆)
instead of connecting just a place as small as this tower, they're spread all over the planet. if you share a common language with 'em, you could talk with somebody tons of hundreds of miles away. over the ocean, even.

What was that you were saying before?
Ah?
[ The question caught him off guard at first. ]
Ah, yes. While my mastery over the common tongue is quite advanced, I sometimes slip back into Sindarin, the language of my people.
I've never heard of Sindarin, but it's a beautiful language. What's the name of your homeland?
