❦ One - [video]
[ After much hesitation on his part to even look at the odd device given to him by his captors, the proud marchwarden allows his curiosity to get the better of him. He tinkers with this odd stone for a moment or two before his confused image suddenly appears upon screen. Looking quite unsure and almost fearful of this object, Haldir speaks in a low hushed tone. ]
Mani naa ta? [ He murmured to himself, not entirely sure if this weird stone was active or not.] I've seen anything like it before...
Is this some sort of sorcery?
[ Still studying this odd thing with curious gaze, Haldir accidentally sets the communicator upside down as he speaks into it. ]
Hello? Does this ridiculous thing truly work?
[ A frustrated sigh escaped him as he rests his chin in his hands. ]
I see no point in these devices. Are we meant to use them for our amusement? If so, I am not easily amused.

It's a tad worrisome. ]
Forgive me but such a wondrous tool doesn't exist within my homeland.

you ain't the first person in the tower who doesn't know what a computer is, it's kind of common. around where I'm from though, computers are even more ~super duper spectacular~! (☆^O^☆)
instead of connecting just a place as small as this tower, they're spread all over the planet. if you share a common language with 'em, you could talk with somebody tons of hundreds of miles away. over the ocean, even.

[ While she couldn't see his expression now, Haldir arched his brow high once he saw that odd figure she drew onto the screen. Just what is that drawing supposed to be of? A face? ]
These "computers" seem to be rather powerful if it can allow you to speak to others so far away. That's quite a feat to behold.

[That emoticon was only one in a beginning deluge, Haldir.]
powerful's a good word! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ see the computer. respect the computer. run away from the computer if it ever gains sentience and decides it resents all these long hours of talking about silly stuff using it.
Voice.
[ A "box" or "stone", really. Both descriptions seemed to suffice in his opinion. ]
Hrm? Run away? But this thing is merely a tool for communication, is it not?

...yeah, it's just a tool. I was making a weak joke. that just proves I need to be vigilant and revise my sense of humor into something any cultural background can appreciate!
Voice.
[ He sighs softly. ]
Ah, I see. Well, if anything I'm not known for easily laughing at a joke or two. My brothers always said that I'm too serious for my own good.
