[It almost works- Chidori pauses, her own eyes going a little unfocused, grip beginning to slacken- and it might have, had Medea retreated entirely after the first attack. Unfortunately for Karkat, his attempts only make the persona shriek with anger and swipe the dagger it holds in the air above him. Kill Rush is meant to bruise and stagger against smaller enemies- the strike damage against someone Karkat's size is likely far more painful than just a few bruises. Chidori staggers from the unexpectedly violent response, and narrows her eyes at Karkat, irritation evident.]

I did warn you.

[Medea disappears, and Chidori tugs the chains a little tighter in retribution, raising her evoker once again. She doesn't move away though- the fire from this won't hurt her in the least.]

Medea. Agidyne.

[A ring of fire around them, and then everything within it save for Chidori, impassive and condemning, starts to burn.]

[Karkat staggers, knocked to the ground harshly with ease. He's not really paying attention to whatever it is Chidori is doing, because his head is spinning and he's struggling to shake the chains off so he can stand and run away.

He pants, choking when the chains tighten. Out of the corner of his eye, he sees the fire burst to life and he's immediately terrified. He tries to squirm closer to Chidori, as if that will somehow help him before the floor envelopes itself in fire.

He shrieks in pain, writhing and tossing trying to throw himself anywhere but in the ring of fire. His gray skin blackens, cerulean blood boiling beneath, and its all he can do to just keep screaming until there's nothing left.
