Why were you being attacked?

[She kind of wants to ask about the chainsaw, too, but that can probably wait.]

[She was about to ask what those words meant, but apparently it was a question this person gets a lot. Naminé is still left with a lot of questions, and perhaps were she a more experienced person she would have been more uncomfortable asking all of them.]

It was a friend? What were they upset about? How could it have helped your society? What happened to your world?

[She'd kind of like to know HOW the world got destroyed, but it suddenly occurs to her that this might not be a very nice thing to ask. She remembers what it was like when she found out her world might have been destroyed, after all. So instead,]

Oh. [Huh. If she'd been brought up in a way normal for humans, she'd probably find this more odd than she actually does.] So you're a troll?

[There's a pause before the message comes through as she considers her liabilities.]

No. I've never been anywhere called Earth. [She's not exactly human, either.]

It's okay. It was an honest mistake.

It's complicated, but you could say I'm from a place called Twilight Town. [Technically. It is where she lived the longest, after all, and the only other option is not one she wants to bring up.]

[She'd apologize for being an anomaly if she was more comfortable with her other anomalous qualities. ~~It'd sound too much like a lie.~~]

It's a big town, but it's quiet. The sun doesn't move there, so it's always twilight. There's a train and a clock tower. [And other than that she's not sure how to describe it without delving into certain subjects she'd rather not bring up.]

Yes it is. It makes everything seem so warm. [Of course, that might be at least partially the fault of the world she'd lived in before that one; it's not hard to feel more warm and comfortable than that other world made one feel.]

It was. [At least by her standards, which are admittedly pretty low.] You don't have to apologize. It wasn't your fault.

I'd already left before I was taken.

[For a moment, she considers leaving it at that, but really, what's the harm?]

It was a dark, empty city with a lot of tall buildings.

Really, you don't have to apologize. I [It took her a moment to work out how to phrase this part.] had to go there to do something important. I went willingly.

['Enjoyed'? It was hard to join that word with anything surrounding The World That Never Was.]

I did what I needed to do there.

[Which means it was a successful trip, at least, if one didn't count the part about being taken right before accomplishing the endgoal of her existence. Everything else, however, was complete, and those were the things that were truly important.]

Yes. [It was all she ever seemed to do.]

What about you? Did you have to do things that were needed in your world? [And by 'world' she meant 'universe', considering the whole planet destruction thing.]
