[backdated to the 21st] text (in japanese)(in english)(in french)

My name is Jun Kurosu. Some of you may remember me from the body swap fiasco.

Others have offered their translation services and I thought perhaps I could help as well. I'm fluent in English, Japanese, and French, and I know some German and Spanish as well. If you need help communicating with anyone who knows those languages, please let me know.

If you speak a language that is in the same family as those, I can try my best to help with that too. It shouldn't be too difficult. At least as long as this keeps up.

[The next part seems to be added after the fact;]

I suppose if anyone wants to learn any of those languages after this mess too, I can assist. In addition, has anyone been able to figure out how the language of this world works?

[The message is repeated and rewritten in every language that he lists, though the German and Spanish versions are a bit broken grammar-wise.]

[...this is clearly something he needs to start teaching Yamato now instead of waiting for him to become a jerk when he's older. So yeah, it's video time!]

There is always a chance our actions can cause harm. But, there are times when it is better to act from the heart than to act from logic.

[A pause, considering he's not sure how else to explain this than something a tad extreme.]

If someone brought me to harm, would you try to help me?
bittydragon: (light blush)

oh wow video

[personal profile] bittydragon 2012-11-23 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[Yamato says that without hesitation, but then he ruins it;]

But that is still a logical decision. If someone harmed you, that means they would be a powerful foe, and therefore, it'd be wise to put them down immediately than allow them to roam free. Healing you is also logical, since you're a powerful ally.

[hrrrf almost. Gotta push a bit harder Alcor...!]

four comments to sadness its like this is a ritual

You know how to heal humans and demons, Yamato. However, I am neither.

[He really doesn't wanna drill this home cos this is honestly upsetting him but-]

Attempting to help when you are unsure if you could have any effect, and in the face of a potential greater threat which may still lurk nearby in this scenario, would be dangerous. You could not defend yourself, nor I, if it came to that.

And yet you would try? Because it would be better and more logical to do something than to not.

This is much the same issue, Yamato, only without a violent enemy. Herein, our enemy is isolation.

is this like a record we get to the sads quicker and quicker

[personal profile] bittydragon 2012-11-23 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
No, but-

[There is a bit of a pause here were Yamato tries to stay in his position, his face scrunching up a bit]

You are comparing two different things. Assistance in battle is given, because protecting competent allies means a higher chance of success. However, given in the injured scenario, it is true that it would be dangerous for me since I am weak in my current age. I would have to try and heal and protect you, because otherwise I would die.

If I am unable to do that, then I deserve to die for being incompetent.

[W-Wow, chilling... Yamato says that without faltering. And then he continues...]

In this language case, offering to translate in a language you are not strong in can cause misunderstandings and fracturing of relationships. So this isolation, as you say, can morph into hostility due to misunderstandings.

[...raising a human child is hard. It's hard and the other stars don't understand.]

Nobody deserves to die for anything. Ever.

[He's gotten so soft since coming here, hasn't he...?]

Nobody else will come forth to help. Hostility and misunderstandings are already ongoing. Mediating the situation, even if one is not an expert, is admirable.

...

Few things are truly matters of competence or success, Yamato Hotsuin.

ugh i don't want a heart anymore

You're wrong.

[Yamato's eyes narrowed a little. Now we're getting to the crutch of his problems. Time to try and unsettle it enough to rip it out by its roots...! I try to be poetic]

The world is built upon deaths. You should know that. There is something one has to die for, be it dreams or...or duty.

[Yamato trips over that last world, his lips pressing together into a thin line. He knows all about duty, even at his young age]

And, and it is our duty to achieve as much as we can, to further our potential! Not to let ourselves drift through life, to stagnate like the dregs that exist in the world...!

...Yamato...

I have watched over humanity since they left their cradle. Duty, love, ambition, and hope- these are all aspects that have driven humans forward.

Even if death can influence or expedite those subjects, it does not define your species. You are all built of such stronger things than that. Not even Death himself seeks a complete end to you- that is the strength of your potential. It is not actual achievements which do it, it's the power of will to keep going. To fight for anything at all. And there are many ways to do this. So many more than you're aware of, yet.

[Alcor pressed his hand to his mouth, as usual when troubled.]

I fear your feelings of despair and doubt are my fault.
bittydragon: (ignore)

[personal profile] bittydragon 2012-11-23 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Tch...

[Yamato turns away, his expression set mutinously]

The will to keep going is just the natural instinct of a human to achieve their full potential. That is all. There is no despair or doubt, only acceptance of this.

[and the beginnings of resentment and bitterness...]

I hope, someday, I can teach you otherwise.

[Your stardad may look a little legitimately upset right now, for once.]

I want you to see the new world, Yamato.

[Yamato's frowning]

I've upset you.

You haven't upset me. That your will is so strong, but your belief is so weak has. It's not your fault. I should have been there for you, more than I was...
bittydragon: (light blush)

[personal profile] bittydragon 2012-11-23 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
...?

[It is clear Yamato is confused]

What nonsense are you saying now? You have always been there for me. You're the only one who is.
