also how long do you get sent back for
both times for me it was like a fucking month
god a fucking month of this shit where you have nothing to do
do you even realize how boring that is?

i assume making snow angels is the shit
but tv programming could be a lying fuck
i only saw snow once and we kind of had shit to do
its cold anyways and why the fuck would you like snow
because freezing your ass off is so much fun

Words can't really describe the amount of mixed emotions at seeing this. On one hand, he's missed Dave so goddamn much since he disappeared. On the other, he really, sincerely hoped Dave had gone home for real. But his stomach twists at finding out that's not the case. But... he's back here. Bro isn't sure if that's better or goddamn worse. Maybe in a way it's better... At least here he has people. He has Bro. Out there, it's like Dave said. He has nothing.

But still, he would never want Dave to be here willingly. He can't deny how happy he is though, and that conflicts with all of his other feelings. You would think he'd be used to mixed feelings, since he's had so many of them since arriving here.

He honestly can't even bring himself to respond with text. He wants to see Dave too much to waffle around on the network, so about a minute after reading this, he's heading to Dave's room. Should he knock? There are probably other people in there, right? Screw knocking, Dave's more important than manners. So that's what he does. He just... comes into the room.

And stands there a moment.

And then after the moment is up, he steps forward with every intention of hugging the shit out of Dave, which is exactly what he does.]

[Dave was sitting at one of the terminals, head propped up by his hand as he stared at the screen indifferently. He pushes away from it and turns towards the door when Bro suddenly barges in. He was kind of surprised to see Bro so quickly.

He's even more surprised when Bro suddenly approaching him and hugging him.]

Woah!

[Suddenly Bro all up in his business.]

Where's the fire? I know a month was a long time, but shit. Did something happen while I was gone?

You said it your goddamn self; a month is a long time. Nothing else aside from that needs to have happened.

I'd... really hoped you'd gone home though. For real. I knew it was stupid to get my hopes up, but still. And even though I really wished it was true, I still missed you like a huge, selfish bastard. So... I guess what I'm tryin' to say is, I'm glad you're back.

[There's a short pause.]

[He kind of awkwardly wraps his arms around Bro. Not the best hug back but it's at least something.]

Didn't want you here in the first place. [Not that he isn't kind of happy to be able to see Bro and even talk to him. He just feels terrible because this isn't a place someone who's going to die anyways should have to deal with.]

I've been here for months anyways. You get used to being here.

I was gone for a little over a month once...

[Chidori's voice isn't sympathetic- trying to pretend the experience was the same for both of them would be belittling. But she does understand- oh, does she understand.]

I can only remember how quiet it all was. Quiet and dark.

[The latter of which she can't really... stand much. Not by herself.]

Snow isn't so bad if you know how to handle it though.

Yeah...I guess it's pretty quiet and dark. [Kind of like how Derse was and traveling through the outer ring. It wasn't necessarily bad, but after awhile, it became unsettling and overwhelming.

He's going to ignore all that though.]

I grew up in Texas. We don't really learn how to handle snow.

I've always thought Earth was too bright anyway. It'd be unbearable with all that white stuff everywhere, reflecting more sunlight.

Usually where there's snow, the sun don't shine quite as well. But hey, I could be wrong. I don't really see snow.
