[Switch off the labyrinth and check the network proper on any one of the terminals, and you shall be greeted by the stern, stoic face of one Princess of Hyrule. She looks somewhat tired, like she hasn't had a good night's sleep, but even so, there is a tranquil sort of absolute fury in her eyes.]

Is it possible to access the locked elevator without the clear- or red-collared workers' "assistance"?

[Fado had been sitting beside Zelda, out of view of the camera and sitting in a chair from the terminal nearby. He hadn't gotten much sleep either-- not only worrying about the well-being of the inhabitants, but keeping the Princess from sinking into despair or flipping into a rage.

His usual smile was replaced with a bit of a frown as he watched her contact the network, and he idly fidgeted with the bow of his violin for a moment before breaking the silence on his end.]

...I do not mean to doubt your judgment-- and by far you have had more experience here than I-- but are you certain of what you intend to do?

[Fortunately (?), her planning has kept her focused - almost religiously so. The previous day had been spent in a horrified panic, but now she has something to devote her energy to. She has hope, however small and unlikely, and she is grabbing onto that hope with all her might.

She does not look at him when she speaks, instead continuing to stare at her terminal intently.]

There are children in that place, Fado. I cannot sit idly by and just... watch as they are forced to fight one another. The Tower is trying to turn us against each other and--

[Hoo, getting a bit emotional there. She stops, takes a deep breath, and forces her stoic mask back on.]

If there is a chance I can do something about it, I have to try.

What they're doing is without a doubt immoral-- [And he certainly didn't like watching it any more than she did!] But I am simply concerned for yours and the safety of others. Given the... questionable designs of those in charge, an all out attack like this may simply prove to upset them further.

Are we to simply live in fear, then? Allow them to do as they please, knowing we will not resist?

[In case it isn't obvious, yeah, it's a bit personal. Even with that awful dream she had, she spent so long just waiting...]

If this plan should come to fruition, I shall only take those also willing to risk the danger.

Your determination is admirable, but thinking like that will lead you to danger; though a soldier is willing to charge into battle at commander's request, it is up to the commander to determine if the battle is wise.

[Sorry Zelda, he knew you were stressed, but it's time to play hardball. There's a stern look on his face now.] Though living in fear will do us no good, when one is incited to anger they are also incited to folly.

The battle is for our friends' lives. I do not care about finding the administrators of this place; I just want to save them.

[She grows tense, her fists clenching in her lap. Her rational mind wants to listen to him, wants to say he's making sense, but she's just so hurt and angry and tired of watching her friends die.]

What else are we supposed to do?

[His shoulders sagged a bit as he frowned; it was obvious that she was upset, and even more obvious that though she was wise beyond her years, she was still young.]

Your plan is not without merit; I simply worry about your haste in choosing these actions. Even in pressing times, one is forced to weigh their options. Do you truly believe something can be accomplished?

[She sighs, taking another deep breath in an attempt to calm herself down.]

They always take us to that elevator when we are selected to take part in their "games." The labyrinth has to be on the other side somewhere.

... I admit, I do not know what will await us on the other side, but if there is the slightest chance I can do something about this situation, then I want to take it.

Knowing the location of where they are held is good. If this is a chance to determine more about the layout and nature of this tower, then there is something that can be gained even in the face of failure. The odds are simply too highly stacked against us to not consider the consequences.

It is not my intention to scold, but simply to open you to considering the entire picture.

I understand. And I am aware of the enormous risk inherent to an endeavor like this, but I just...

[In a rare display of undignified behavior, she leans forward onto the desk, propping herself up on her elbows and covering her eyes with her hands.]

... I am tired of watching my friends die.

[He let out the smallest of sighs; it was quite distressing seeing the Princess in such a state after all. He climbed up to stand on his chair to get tall enough to rest a free hand on Zelda's shoulder.]

Your intentions are wholly sound. [And a sad smile.] If you believe this to be the proper path, needless to say you have my support

Truly?

[She looks up then, surprised considering all the misgivings he's had about her plan. But she tries to return the smile.]

Thank you, Fado.

[His smile was still a tad somber, but he did give a sure nod.]

One's intents and motivations are the crux of a matter-- for everyone. The desire to protect those cast into misfortune... [And another nod, this time more firm as his smile brightened.] a good quality! I won't say my concern for the outcome has vanquished, but it's a step in the right direction.

[Intent. Oh, how she's only ever intended well. And given that awful dream... she's nervous, in all honesty, though she tries to hide it. What if she fails, and what if everyone hates her for it, and what if what if what if--

She takes another deep breath, nodding slowly. She can't afford to think like that - not now.]

I cannot say I know what will happen should we succeed in breaching through the elevator, but I promise I will do everything in my power to keep those who come with me safe.

And that's a sign of leadership enough. [He nodded with a smile. Although... it was easy to see that she was...well, uneasy...]

But it would be best to go forth without doubts. Are you sure this footage is the only thing that's been disturbing you?

[... She's quiet, chewing on her lip and mentally debating whether or not she should confide in him about her nightmare.

She settles for an impersonal half-explanation.]

... I have reason to believe "sponsoring" those within the labyrinth has a price.

[That got a look of curiosity. He knew of the sponsoring, but he had never been able to do it himself. He hadn't spent much time watching the labyrinth aside from with the Princess.]

What price might this be?

[She raises one of her hands, cupping it slightly as if she were holding something in it. But no matter how hard she tries, she just cannot summon anything.]

They have taken away my magic. I do not know for how long, but I can only imagine that the more on sponsors, the longer they must go without their abilities.

[Pausing then, she closes her fingers into a fist, jaw tightening as she thinks about the other half of the cost of sponsorship.]

And... my sleep last night was far from restful. I was plagued with a horrible nightmare that felt far too real to be a mere creation of my own mind...

[His brows raised a little at this news; it would have been foolish to think the sponsorships came at no cost, but to think of the forces that could pull this off...!]

...It would seem those that rule are able to intrude on the mental realm as well then. [That'd be concerning even everything else aside.]

I will not pry into these visions you've had-- [Though he certainly has a concerned frown--] and perhaps it is pointless to ask you not to be disheartened, but that is truly all I an advise, other than caution. If our enemies have this ability, it's not a far jump to think they might use this to demoralize, rather than simply slaughter outright.
