General, I've got good news and bad news. Got somewhere private enough that we can talk?

So, uh, I got a question for you guys. Anybody know where I can get a sword around here? Mine seems to have not made the trip with me and it feels weird to not have it, so...[sheepish look is go] I'd just really appreciate it if I could get a new one or something. Or if somebody could tell me they've seen my old one. It's about six feet long, weighs around 50 pounds...pretty hard to miss, but I can't find it anywhere.

I can't find it anywhere. And I've looked just about everywhere I can think of, even under my bed. It's why I asked if you'd found yours yet.

No, but from the sounds of it, we'll both be needing them before too long.

Granted, I haven't yet heard of any attacks on any of the others in the Tower, but that doesn't mean much, all things considered. [As they both were still quite unfamiliar with this place.]

By the way, have you spoken with Strife? Or the Turk? [Then Sephiroth went deadly serious.] And a warning, Zack, if you were as yet unaware: Professor Hojo is also here.

Or something else. Who knows how long Materia's gonna work, or if it's going to work on whatever else is in here.

[Because they really don't know much about this place and there's hardly anytime to learn so...he'll just shake his head. He's about to say something about not even knowing Cloud or any Turks were here, but then the warning comes. Hojo. No way. He can't be here. There's no way that's possible! But Sephiroth wouldn't lie. Not about this.]

...Did he say anything to you?

[Sephiroth shook his head, firmly.]

Nothing I'd care to repeat. [Indeed, all of his conversations with that madman he did well to push to the back of his mind.] Yet he bears watching, nevertheless. Because I'd trust a wounded Zolom more.

[Nothing he'd care to repeat, huh? Zack won't push, but that's worrisome on it's own without needing to go into detail. Hojo bears watching, and it's at this moment that Zack swears to himself that the mad doctor won't get anywhere near Sephiroth, no matter what he has to do.]

Tell me about it. The Zolom you'd at least see coming up behind you, too. Hojo's sneaky sometimes.

[Never fear, pup. That crazy bastard would eat a Hell Thundaga before Sephiroth let him within fifty feet. Of himself, you or any of the General's men. Ever.]

He is, indeed. And he was smarmy enough to intimate he'd be nothing but delighted to continue his "experiments" in this new location.

[A notion that chilled Sephiroth's blood.]

But there's little we can do about him now. Survival is the priority. And supplies. As well as sitting down with both the Turk and the Cadet and swapping whatever intelligence is available.

[That's good. It still doesn't change Zack's mind about putting himself between Hojo and Sephiroth should things go down like that someday. It's just who he is, really.]

Like we'll let that happen.

[A snort, then Zack takes a deep breath. Back to work, Fair. No sense in letting fear get the best of you.]

Well, we can get food and water at the Cafeteria at the base of the tower, but I don't know how long it'll last. It's definitely not military rations.

Better or worse? [Because there was definitely a difference.]

That depends on if you let yourself taste it, man. It's better than my cooking, though.
