[Shhhh, it's a viable concern in a place like the Tower, okay.]

[She pauses where she is for a moment, then takes the cue and walks over, assuming that they'll be sitting over there.] Good. [She seems pleased, even though,] What's a genre?

[Dave kind of shoves the pile in her direction. Just choose one. Don't even worry about what you're choosing. They're going through as many as possible.]

It's kind of like a category. Movies are categorized by a certain theme. Usually by what type of movie. Most basic are romance, comedy, action, horror, and probably some other crap I really don't care to name off. But they get even more into it when they add things like romcom or some shit. There's a mix of everything. [Minus horror. Unless you find Dave Strider screaming like a little girl to be worth the watch.]

[The girl blinks down at them, a little overwhelmed by the number of possible choices, but soon enough she's delicately picking through them, returning them gently to their places if she decides against them.]

[It's clear she's listening by the way her eyes shift between the movies and him periodically, along with the occasional thoughtful noise.] Wow. We've got a lot of work to do, then.

[She's really got no idea how to choose, so she ends up picking the thing with the most colorful cover art. ~~The lack of horror is probably a good thing. Life in the Tower makes up for its absence, and then some. Besides, it probably wouldn't be her kind of thing.~~]

It's cool. We don't need to do all of it at once. We got plenty of time in this stupid tower to watch everything.

[Dave takes it from her and goes to put it in. He was too busy rambling about this that he failed to actually check what they're watching. This is going to be a whole lot of fun.

He goes back to sit down.] I'm surprised they have decent movies to choose from.

Mm. You're right. [That's a perk, isn't it?]

[She relinquishes the movie readily, eyes following him for lack of anything else to focus on. Once he's seated, she seats herself next to him, at a comfortable distance (for her, anyway, which means plenty of breathing room for both of them).]

It is kind of a surprise. But-- at least it's a good one. [Unlike most of the surprises in the Tower.]

[Just as long as people don't disappear from the Tower. That's a common theme around here.

He shifts a bit to get himself comfortable.]

What are we watching? I didn't really look. [This is going to be a surprise for him. ~~I have no idea what they're watching.~~]

[All too common. She's never quite sure whether or to be glad for them or to worry for them. (It usually ends up more of the latter, regardless.)]

Mm-- not sure. I just liked the colors. [She is not as embarrassed admitting that as she probably should be. ~~Neither do I fdjbgfdjgdbkgdf~~]

[Dave just kind of gets a little sad whenever people he knows end up disappearing.]

I guess colors is a good way to choose a movie at random. [It's not like she really knew what to expect. ~~They're watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I have decided this.~~]

[It'd be hard not to be. Being seperated indeterminately from those one cares about is rarely a pleasant experience.]

Is it? [This seems to surprise her, though she doesn't put too much stock in it. Nevertheless, it earns a smile. ~~Yes, good, trip the poor girl out with the first movie. Except not, because compared to both their lives, that stuff ain't even weird.~~]

Usually, you would choose based on what looks pleasing to you, so yeah. [ Oh she smiled though! That's a very good sign. That makes him look a little embarrassed, if anything. ~~It has a very deep meaning inside! Shh. And they seriously have seen worst, anyways. THeir lives are suffering.~~]

Oh. Huh. For some reason, I thought there would be more to it than that. [Oh well. Shrug? That embarrassed look makes her tilt her head at him, though the smile stays. ~~Suffering and crack, yes. So maybe some silliness is appropriate.~~]

Well, you wouldn't want to choose a movie that looks like something you wouldn't enjoy, right? [He is so cool right now. SO COOL. No. No, he isn't. He's so embarrassing right now. Oh my god, Dave Cool Strider has left the building and left behind Dave Socially-Awkward Strider to deal. ~~Silliness is good. They also have plenty of cheesy action movies to see too.~~]

That does seem important...! Since we're-- watching them the whole time. Right? [She is still not completely sure how much other movies are like the one she saw. Poor guy! But she doesn't seem to mind. ~~Yeaaaaah! /o/ Bring on the cheese--~~]

Yeah. But movie covers can be pretty misleading too. Sometimes they're really terrible, but the movie is still good. I'm not really a huge movie buff though. [Movies are all over the place. Don't worry Naminé. You'll probably be completely overwhelmed at how different all the movies will be.

While Dave here is overwhelmed about dumb things.]

Hm. So it's like-- not judging a book by its cover. [That's not a huge epiphany, no, but anyway,] I guess we'll find out what the case is with this one. [... Wait, no pun intended.] ... Er, well, what it's like on the inside, I mean.

[She will be very fascinated, yes! Which may help give him time to stop being overwhelmed by dumb things.]

Yeah. [It was the hugest of epiphanies, obviously.] I know most of what I grabbed, but there's a few others i just tossed into the pile out of interest.

[He might just be overwhelmed the entire time. This is like the most awkward not date. It's just two pals hanging out and watching movies. Yep. Wow, he's such a loser.]

Hm.... It's-- kind of exciting that way, isn't it? If you don't know for sure what you're going to get. [Not that the same uncertainty would be welcome in other aspects of life, but.]

[WELP lucky for him then that she doesn't recognize it as a date, not!date or otherwise. This is just a Friend Thing that Friends apparently do? If they're friends, that is. (She kind of hopes they are, even if she's not sure she should allow herself to hope for something like that.)]

Sometimes. But sometimes the movie you watch is just the saddest load of shit you ever had the displeasure of watching. [And then you wasted like two hours of your life watching it.

It totally isn't a date! Dave just happened to ask his friend that is a girl to watch a movie with him. Totally platonic yo. But they are totally friends.] What...do you usually like doing? [Trying to get to know you more. Shh.]

Hee...! Well, maybe. [Give her a second to consider this.] But that's part of the fun, too, isn't it? [Either that or five minutes, after which you decided to remove and smash the disk.]

[Good! Now, tell her that--] Mm-- I draw. [Which may not be the same thing as liking it?! Her hobbies really include keeping spiky haired kids out of trouble.] And I like to read, too. [... Someone get this girl more tv time, stat--] Why? What do you usually like doing?

I guess so. Sometimes they're so bad, they're good. [Or at least amusing to watch and makes it slightly worth your time.] Sometimes you feel like you just wasted your time and maybe your money. [It's a terrible syndrome to want to watch it in entirety and regret every second of it.]

You draw or you like drawing. Two different things. I mean. I want to know what you like to do and maybe we could do it together. You know. Like friend shit. [How on Earth can you get this awkward, Dave.] I guess I still like making music. I kind of don't do a lot anymore.

I'd like to see that...! [This is an interesting concept to her, okay.] That seems like a shame. Even then, though, it's still a new experience. [If one's into that kind of thing, of course.]

Well-- I guess I do like it, too. I just... don't usually think about it very much. [But oh-- that sure was the word 'friend' she just heard, wasn't it? That makes her blink, looking momentarily startled, but she tries to take it in stride.] -- Because of the Tower?

I'll find one that's like that so you can get the full experience. [It's mostly ridiculous.] You win some, you lose some. That happens. Still sucks.

I used to draw stuff. We can do that together. It would be fun. [Maybe. Probably. Hopefully?] Yeah. The Tower kind of keeps us busy. [Dave won't openly admit he's probably been avoiding people more the longer he stays here.]

[He's not the best drawer though.] Cool. Another thing for another time. [Good thing she won't ever know. Hopefully.] The movie is starting. [That jackass totally changed the subject. He doesn't want to think much about it. He'll have to think about how long he's been here and how much he's been out of touch with everything he used to do.]

[Not that she cares.] Right. It's a plan. [Hopefully, because that would be tremendously awkward for all parties involved. She watches him a bit longer after the subject change; she saw what he did there. Well, if he'd rather not talk about it, she'll just look back at the screen.]
