[Over the last month, Eridan has seen a couple of gold bloods who look like Sollux from a distance, but from their clothes and demeanour he knew they weren't his Sollux. He's ranged from relief to resentment over this. Why are there so many people from stupid worlds where sea dwellers are in charge, and Sollux and Feferi from his world are nowhere to be found?

On the other hand, he's pretty glad not to have anyone he knows around, because he can get away with more. He hasn't touched the pills in his trunk, and no one's called him a violent blood. No one expects him to do what they say, or gives him shit for having fins.

And today, Willow fixed his clothing so it looks brand new, and so he doesn't even look like a low-blood.

He's feeling pretty damn good about all this, right until he rounds the corner and sees another Sollux. This one in familiar clothing.

He freezes and stares for a moment, extremely aware of the kismesis ring on his left hand - which he's taken to wearing like some kind of security blanket, knowing that no one but him knows what it means - and the bee pin on his shirt - which he wears for the same reason]

Fuck--!

[Oh god really? His stupid ass kismesis got roped into this thing too? Well, at least he could get himself out of here using Eridan probably. Several long strides later, Sollux was standing right in front of Eridan.]

Ee-dee what the fuck ith going on?

[Eridan looks a little shell-shocked for a moment there. He really never expected to see his kismesis again, and there's a part of him that wants to throw his arms around him and hug him.

No way would he be caught dead doing that, though.

Instead he smirks.] Wwhat, the great information broker himself needs to beg for info from one a his hired minions? You're slippin', Sol.

[Though he's honestly really relieved that there's a familiar face around. It sort of proves in his mind that this is all a huge sham.

And then, he notices that Eridan actually has on the pin he gave him. He's honestly never really seen him wear it of his own volition. It makes his expanding and contracting vascular system swell with pride.] Nithe pin by the way, where'd you get that?

No, fuck you! You can't do shit to me, an I don't see wwhy I should take any a your carp, Sol. You don't knoww wwhat kind a place you're in, but I can assure you that you don't havve the kind a powwer you're used to wwielding in this place.

[He purples at the mention of the pin and reaches up, stopping just before he would have ripped it off - he doesn't want to ruin his nice clothes again. Instead he starts to remove it. Unfortunately, this forces his ring to be exposed.]

This piece a junk? I don't knoww howw it got on there.

[Totally not listening.] You've been wearing my ring two? Did you mithh me or thomething? [Here Eridan, have a shit eating grin. He's sure you've missed those.]

[Oh my god, Sollux, you are such a douchebag. Eridan takes off the bee pin and almost hurls it at his smirking face, but he's nervous of what would happen if he does]

Shut up about your stupid shitty ring and listen to me for once in your fuckin' life! I'vve already died once since I got here, and I'm not gonna pay for your ignorance.

[Side eye. Eyebrow cocked, he's trying to figure out if that was a joke, Eridan being over dramatic or what.] What the hell do you mean "you already died"?

[Finally, he's listening. Eridan drops his voice] This place, Sol. It's a gigantic, fucked up, experimental laboratory or somethin'. If you die, you just wwake up again, and they do experiments on people, turn them into monsters and stuff.

...Theriouthly? [Fear very briefly flashes across his features. That sounds a little messy, to say the least.]

I'vve nevver been so serious about anyfin in my fuckin' life. [He finds himself curling his fingers in Sollux' sleeve. He actually is relieved that Sollux is here] This guy I knoww, they turned him into this creepy hoofbeast thing with bones comin' out all ovver, and then they turned him back normal again. Except he wwas still an alien, but still. Normal, for him.

[Sollux's eyes go wide as Eridan grabs his sleeve, and even wider as he keeps talking.] Hey, don't freak out. I'm here and we're going to find thome way to get home, alright?

I'm not freaking out! I'm tryin' to get you to fuckin' listen to me, because that's a thing you hardly evver do.

[He lets go, grabs his scarf, but carefully lets go of it instead of beginning to chew or worry at it with his fingers. He doesn't want to ruin it]

There's somethin' else-- [But then he pauses. No. Why should he tell Sollux anything? Let him find out for himself and get his ass kicked by a bunch of highbloods who think of him as low. He had it coming to him, anyway.] Nevvermind.

[Glare. Not believing that for a second.] What were you about to thay?

[Scowling] Nothin'.

You wwant a tour or something? That seems to be a fashionable thing to do after bitchin' on the computer like a wwriggler.

Dependth. You going to tell me where your new hive ith?

Wwhy, so you can come bug me any time you like? [He'll probably tell him, if only so he can find out where Sollux is, too]

Of courthe. [And also, if that sort of crazy shit really is true, Sollux doesn't want to be alone in this fucked up place.]

[Oh. Well, he doesn't know what to say to that.] Wwhatevver. You havve to tell me wwhere your hivve is, too, though. [And he heads towards the stairs. Coming, Sol?]

Thure I will, I'll show you once I figure out where you are. [He calmly strides towards the stairs, following alongside Eridan.]

You're lyin'. [Scowling he sticks his hands in his pockets and slouches, walking up the stairs in an irritated, sulky manner.] I'm not sure wwhy I ought a do you any favvours.

And yet, here you are, thtill showing me where you thleep. [Sollux grins, taking the steps two at a time. He was admittedly a little proud to still have this much control over Eridan, despite the fact that they weren't home anymore.]

Maybe I'll just push you off a the towwer instead.

[He lengthens his stride, his scowl deepening. He isn't sure if he wants Sollux knowing where he lives or not, is the problem. The idea is a little scary on some level, but at the same time he is glad to have someone here that he knows, and it's reassuring to have Sollux here, in particular. Sollux isn't someone he would need to protect, but instead someone who might protect him. He doesn't want to piss him off too badly, particularly before he gets that talisman from Sollux]

I'd love two thee you try. [Sollux just chuckles, making sure to not fall behind Eridan. But he really is going to show Eridan his new living space, if for no other reason than in the event of an emergency, he wants Eridan to know where to find him.]

You might be surprised, you knoww. Not only wwill your powwers not wwork in certain places, but I'vve got neww allies here wwith powwers that wwill bloww your little arrogant thinkpan. And they're wwilling to schoolfeed me in the magical arts, an pretty soon maybe you wwon't be able to push me around so easily, is all I'm sayin'.
