4th Time in Text
what do you while waiting for the sleep paralysis to wear off?
i mean it was kind of terrifying the first time
and maybe even the second time
but at this point its like the hugest fucking waste of time to be stuck lying on your bed waiting to get feeling to your fingers again
but now im curious
what is the longest you got stuck lying in bed for
like an approximate if you werent sure of the exact time

good things
right
thats a good time passer
[He hasn't had a lot of amazing moments here, now that he thinks about it. That's actually a really depressing thought. He's going to stop thinking about it because this is the exact opposite of what he wanted.]
didnt swap back
[Text]
You may have to think pretty far back.
[She's not sure, really, but considering what the Tower is like for most people... well. It seems a reasonable assumption.]
But it might help.
[... Except,]
Or maybe it would be better to try not to have that problem again. [Not that she means to imply that such a thing would happen for lack of trying to avoid it.]
Oh.
I'm so sorry.
[Text]
i think my birthday is coming up
holy shit
not interested in celebrating my birthday here
[He's been here too long. He hasn't even been here as long as others, but it's still been awhile.]
ill just establish a dont die anymore rule
i like the sounds of that
dead daves are the enemy
this place just doesnt seem to get that
its cool
it could have been worst
[Text]
It's not so bad having a birthday here. [Er, by her standards, anyway, but those standards are very low.] At least it's not as bad as it could be.
That seems like a good rule.
It's not very cooperative no.
I suppose so. It can always be worse. [... Um. That was... intended optimistically, actually! Even if it sounds a little morbid.]
[Text]
but i think im already a year older if i based it on my time
oh fuck it i might as well just get used to the time here
less of a headache to keep up with this bullshit
ill put it in when its not jason month
screw this guy and him being in charge
yeah
uh
did you still want to watch movies?
we could do that now or something
since we shouldnt have anything else for the rest of ths month
[Changing topics. Yep.]
[Text]
[-- Urk.] That might be for the best.
[Okay yes, this topic change seems like a good idea.]
Of course. I'd be happy to. Whenever you're ready. [Not like there's too much else to keep her busy, after all (and even if there was, she'd try to make time).]
[Text]
but its kind of something i guess worth keeping note of
[He's going to have a lot of mixed feelings about this.]
if you meet me in the media room ill get it set up
youll understand every stupid movie cliche the tower has to offer to you
[Text]
I'm sure your friends would like to celebrate your birthday with you too.
[That's reason enough, right? She's never had a proper birthday, so she can't claim to be at all familiar with such things aside from secondhand memories, mostly of things she never had the chance to pay too much attention to.]
Okay. I'll be there soon then.
I'll be sure to pay attention to all of them. [-- Oh. Oh, wait, she's... slowly formulating a joke here.] Should I take notes?
[Text]
wait that isnt like something super intrusive to ask
i mean i cant take it back now but id still like to know
[Maybe he would like to celebrate her birthday. She doesn't sound like she has had a birthday party before.]
better take notes on that shit
might have a pop quiz later and i dont think i can accept anything that isnt a perfect score
[Text]
[Not exactly, although she did get to attend a party that a friend decided would also represent her birthday! It just... wasn't very birthday-y.]
I'll be very thorough about the note taking.
[Text]
next time we should celebrate it then
im sure your friends would want to celebrate it with you
like you said
[This movie night thing will cover it! Kind of.]
next time well have snacks
jason kind of ganked us this month because hes a buttmuncher
[Text]
[Close enough! It's more than she was expecting, after all.]
I don't mind. [Either not having snacks or having them next time; she's content either way.]
[Text]
[Everyone seems to like to have an excuse to party anyways.]
ill see you in the media room
i cant keep my sorry butt at this terminal forever
we have trashy and probably terrible movies to watch
[Text]
I'll try to remember that.
[That they do; in a place like this, people need all the encouragement they can get.]
Right. Of course. See you there.
[
Not that she'll know or care if they're terrible and/or trashy and/or any number of other derogatory adjectives.][IDK what even goes in here atm. Not here? >:?]
Dave had left the terminal and disappeared off to the media room to set up and also look through the movie selection in hopes of movies he actually recognizes. He's never too sure with this Tower and the selection they offer.]
[SOUNDS ABOUT RIGHT and it's also what should be here]
[>ABSCOND]
[SUPER ACTION BRACKETS]
He picked out some movies he doesn't recognize, but he gets the feeling they might not touch those.]
[ACTION TIME YEAH ~~~~~~~~~~~/o/ PCHOOOOOO]
and nothing happened to him on the wayshe smiles immediately, calling a,]Hello...!
[ALL THE MOVIES]
Sup. [He just picks up the pile of movies and drops them bear the beanbags.] So we have every genre possible that can exist in the form of a two hour recording of people pretending to be other people.
[ALL OF THEM]
[She pauses where she is for a moment, then takes the cue and walks over, assuming that they'll be sitting over there.] Good. [She seems pleased, even though,] What's a genre?
[SHE WILL BE SCHOOLED IN ALL THE POP CULTURE]
It's kind of like a category. Movies are categorized by a certain theme. Usually by what type of movie. Most basic are romance, comedy, action, horror, and probably some other crap I really don't care to name off. But they get even more into it when they add things like romcom or some shit. There's a mix of everything. [Minus horror. Unless you find Dave Strider screaming like a little girl to be worth the watch.]
[SHE WILL GET AN A+ ON THAT POP QUIZ MAN, TOP OF THE CLASS]
[It's clear she's listening by the way her eyes shift between the movies and him periodically, along with the occasional thoughtful noise.] Wow. We've got a lot of work to do, then.
[She's really got no idea how to choose, so she ends up picking the thing with the most colorful cover art.
The lack of horror is probably a good thing. Life in the Tower makes up for its absence, and then some. Besides, it probably wouldn't be her kind of thing.][HE WILL BE SO PROUD. THE PROUDEST.]
[Dave takes it from her and goes to put it in. He was too busy rambling about this that he failed to actually check what they're watching. This is going to be a whole lot of fun.
He goes back to sit down.] I'm surprised they have decent movies to choose from.
[AND SHE'LL OWE IT ALL TO HER GREAT TEACHER.]
[She relinquishes the movie readily, eyes following him for lack of anything else to focus on. Once he's seated, she seats herself next to him, at a comfortable distance (for her, anyway, which means plenty of breathing room for both of them).]
It is kind of a surprise. But-- at least it's a good one. [Unlike most of the surprises in the Tower.]
[SHE'S JUST A GREAT STUDENT.]
He shifts a bit to get himself comfortable.]
What are we watching? I didn't really look. [This is going to be a surprise for him.
I have no idea what they're watching.][SHHHHHHHHHH, SHE CHEATS. MEMORY WITCH YEAAAAAAAH]
[HE'S TOTALLY COOL WITH CHEATING.]
[OH. ONE OF *THOSE* TEACHERS, THEN--]
[HE DOESN'T JUDGE. SHUSH.]
[EXCUSES EXCUSES.]
[HE'S A VERY UNDERSTANDING TEACHER.]
[AND ALSO A CHEATY MCCHEATER PANTS ENABLER. FOR SHAAAAAAME--]
[HE DOES WHAT HE WANTS GOSH.]
