001 [action/text]
Specifically for the occupants of 2-10
[When Dirk awakens and can't move at first, he finds himself panicking. This isn't something that normally happens, so it's a huge relief when he actually is able to move. Immediately, he's able to tell he's not where he should be. His memory is a little hazy due to the fact he's still waking up, but he knows that the last thing he was doing, which certainly wasn't sleeping. Who could sleep when their home was under attack?
The letters he finds answers a few of the initial questions he has, but it leaves a billion more unanswered. His world was destroyed? Given the state it was in, he isn't surprised, but he was supposed to get into the game first. He's pretty sure this isn't it. This is horribly disconcerting, because he can't help but wonder about his friends. Did they make it to safety? Are they here?
After another few moments, he's aware he's not the only person in the room either. Well then.]
...Who are you people.
Network; open.
I'm not entirely sure what is going here, so perhaps someone can shed some light on this situation.
How is it that I've arrived here?
I'm finding the information provided by the welcoming committee highly doubtful for a multitude of reasons that I don't have time to get into at this time.
With that, I'll cut to the chase; in the off-chance that it's actually correct, that my world was destroyed, I must ask.
Does anyone know Roxy Lalonde, Jake English, Jane Crocker and their whereabouts?

[Alright, Sayaka, be a little more helpful than that.]
okay, I got this: hi, welcome to the tower, the land of suck and woe and wanting to punch the administrator's faces in (*^ワ^*)! you got here right after a lot of chaos, so who knows if it's going to end up a really lame time to first end up in a terrible doom tower or if it's just going to be the usual casual level of terrible
you got here the way everybody else got here, but the way everybody else got here is something we only have on word of the admins, who are rotten bastards, so the short answer is heck if i know (´−`) ンー
[text] omg that's the best response
Is it necessary to be so ambiguous?
But yeah, five seconds in I realised how shitty this place is. What just went down? It can't be a lot worse than what I was dealing with.
In that case I'll have to find out myself.
[text -> lock] i live to serve
what kinda specifics do you want? "floor whatever looks okay but is actually full of murderdeath?" "eat the oatmeal first or you'll get sick?" there's a lot of little stuff, but...
...
[She's never instituted a lock on a post before herself, but she figures it's not too hard - with a little work, she puts up a fairly basic one for this:]
i don't really want to talk about it at all, but if you're gonna go around asking I guarantee there's at least someone who's worse off than me who you'll just make feel worse. I'm doing a favor for them.
Last month the main tower's power and food supplies were all cut until just yesterday, and a lot of people were took to these.. pod things, and put in three groups. The admins were holding this contest, to see which one could run things best.
it wasn't fun.

If he said he doesn't have some annoying ominous feeling present in his stomach, he'd be lying. Slicing a meteor in half? No big deal. Being kidnapped from a game when all logic pointed to the fact he shouldn't have been able to be? That was pretty damn scary. But he wasn't going to turn into a quivering pile of goo and start shitting himself. Nope, he was going to wait it out and see what the hell was going on.
So when Dirk wakes up, he turns his attention to him, setting the letters next to him on the bed.]
About time, sleeping beauty.
Action
Wow. Okay.
Dirk's expression doesn't betray him, however. His face remains as passive as ever as he stares at Bro. Finally, he tosses the letters onto the mattress and leans against the wall.]
If I didn't know any better I'd ask if this was a dreambubble.
Action
[Yeah, he notices just how freakily similar Dirk looks to him. He's actually pretty sure that's what he looked like as a teen. But he's just going to let that roll right off his back. Because he's honestly sure he doesn't. actually want to know the answer.
Because seriously what the fuck?
It doesn't make sense. And if he thinks about it too hard, he's going to just get pissed off. Goddammit there's only one Bro Strider in the world, who is this douchebag.]
You got a name?

Although you might be pretty familiar with those already if you've got a Lalonde in your life.

There's nothing I wanted more than to be thrown from one fucked up world to another.
Can't say she induces that kind of feeling for me. So do you know her or not?
text;
No? You must've lucked out. I don't know her specifically but I've run into so many damn Lalondes that I can't be too far off from the full set. This place is great for shit like that.

[Text]
They're my friends, and at the moment I cannot help but worry for their safety.
Before I woke up here, my home and Roxy's were under attack by Imperial Drones, so it's only a matter of time before something happens to Jake and Jane's as well.
Which is why if you know a way out of here, I need you to share with me immediately, Dave.
[He's taking a leap there and taking an educated guess. He really doesn't want to be wrong because...bro.]

[Give him a moment. He needs to figure out how to work this network server. Please hold.]
I do apologize for that mess in the above script. I was trying to find a suitable method of response and how to go about it on this network.
You arrived here the same as all of us orange scripted stranger.
Our worlds have been destroyed and the tower, Animus, is now your home.
There is no need to fear. For the most part you are safe now.
However I might recommend going out with a companion before exploring, rather then going off alone.
As for your inquiry as to where the location of your friends are...that I am not certain.
Those names do not spark any alerts within my memory.
If you require any other form of assistance I would be willing to help.
[Text]
The more I talk to people the suspicious that sounds. That's a lot of worlds to have been destroyed.
I'm not saying that it's impossible, it just seems unlikely. So many different people, from different universes?
It sounds more like spontaneous abduction.
I'll keep that in mind, as well.
To have been brought here means that whoever's in charge is formidable, so I doubt things would be made easy for me here at all.
Do you know of a way out?
[Text]
I must point out though, how can we not assume that? There is no proof otherwise. For now it is best to not draw attention to one self and follow suit as the letter has informed.
It is not an easy residence to be placed in.
I have recently arrived as you have, only a few weeks have passed since I woke up here.
Unfortunately I have no found a way to leave. I am still gathering information as I speak to you.

Have you met anyone named Maka Albarn?
[Text]
I haven't either. With a name like that, I'll remember if I do run into that person in the future.
[Text]
[Text]
oh god i'm so late to this. text; -> video;
theres some kernel of truth to what the powers that be in this abomination of a tower claim but it should be taken with a truly ludicrous dose of salt
i maintain that its hardly as simple as they say
in any case in regards to your latter question i would
...
give me a moment
[he switches on the video feed. Have a 13 year old kid who, gender and slight darkening of associated color aside, looks startlingly like Roxy.
...and, somewhat more disturbingly, bears something of an uncanny resemblance to Dirk's bro in his younger years, and Dirk himself.]
It would appear that, current status aside, you know something of my mother's present activities--as if anything of the sort is even possible--that I do not.
Enlighten me--oh, I beseech.
[dripping with ironic snark, but the question remains genuine. what the fuck is even going on, who is this.]
/pet. das okay; video
For a long moment, he's just staring at the face on the monitor. His mind is racing because yes he can see all the resemblances. It's a little disconcerting, but he's sure it's one of the alternate universe things. Even still, he's got to be certain. Just in case.]
You aren't from some future where Roxy and I have a kid, are you?
[He can't even move onto answering the kid's question right away. He's in a bit of a shock, although his expression doesn't reveal that at all.]
Last I heard from her, she was under attack like I was.
