[Early in the morning--perhaps one or two--there's a series of violent explosions that seem to originate in the residential elevator shaft. The elevator itself plummets--anyone unlucky enough to be inside is killed either by the explosion or the fall, although they won't be able to recall which due to apparent unconsciousness.

Jason sends this message not long after the explosions quiet down.]

WHAT have you lot done this time? Are you trying to crack the Tower in half? HOW did you even get explosives? Do you know what you've just DONE? This is going to be a mess. It's your own fault, but given I'm on babysitting duties, I'm going to do my best to fix this as quickly as possible. It'll still take a week or so, though.

Until then--well, maybe you should figure out which of your revolutionaries had THIS bright idea and give them a talking to, because pretty soon you're all going to find out what that explosion broke.

(There will be no NPC response to this post.)

Kiryu Kyosuke | Dark Signer of the Giant Mark

[Whelp, at least someone here is more amused than bothered by this rather rude wake-up-call.]

So, I suppose some people did take my words to heart, belated as it may be in this particular case. Congratulations~

Though, I do wonder... just how did you get your hands on proper explosives around here? And more importantly... why haven't you shared?

[He's been working on his own bomb for months now, okay? It's coming along nicely, but good material is just so hard to come by.]

Ganondorf Dragmire
09 August 2013 @ 02:17 pm
[ Regarding Jason's recent post and the, sad and pathetic, attempts he has seen to yet again beg Jason to cooperate with them, Ganondorf reacts. After all, he has not accepted to assist the foolish masses last months only to see them ruin everything they accomplished. ]

I see a number amongst you are still trying to beg Jason for his favors. Still trying to convince him to work alongside us. Clinging onto the hope that everyone can live together and work without any ill thoughts. This is all very beautiful in theory.

However as a matter of fact, you are only building more illusions on top of those that make this tower what it is. Jason does not desire to work with you. All he wants is to use all of you as test subjects for as long as he can. If anything, he will exploit your naivete to reach his ends and make the tower he dreams of a reality.

Of course, in certain situation people will work together. Yet, Jason appears to be under the impression we broke his precious tower-- Which indeed happened. He will never accept to work with any of you. If he does, he will only be deceiving you to reach the aforementioned purpose.

You have to accept the fact he is an enemy and will have to be defeated. Not everyone can be swayed away by your optimistic and delusional speech. This is a reality that you have to accept if you truly desire to survive.

What happens in this tower is not some sort of fairy tales for children. There are no higher beings guiding your every steps and ensuring you victory at the end of the road. This is not a story written by a benevolent author who will it to give everyone what they want in the end. There are no Gods who will save you.

And even if all of this were nothing more than a story, believe me when I say those writing it would have proven to be particularly cruel and sadistic people by your standards.

Counter Guardian Arturia @ Tower of Animus
09 August 2013 @ 07:08 pm
[Arturia had been among those in the elevator the previous night. Not that she remembers much of it aside from a loud noise and then.... something strange. When she had finally been allowed to move the next day--after the Glamour briefly glitched and she had the curious sight of floating within a pod of violet fluid, unable to move whatsoever--she had checked the Network and seen the bombing.

Arturia is not the best at being sneaky about things. She knows this. But this Tower changes people and she has resigned herself to the fact she cannot be honorable all the time. She no longer sees herself as a proper knight, no matter how she tries.

So she takes a page out of Archer's book, collects her papers and pens for mapping the Tower, and spends the morning mapping things out. When she reaches the medical clinic, she stands outside it, looking thoughtful. Then heads inside. Once there she asks aloud if there had been anything strange about her collar checkup on the third, as her recent resurrection had been unusual. The units do not answer, but Arturia scribbles down a message for R-037 and hands it over.

"Was it your group?"

The reply that is written is:

"It wasn't my group. I don't know WHAT that was."

Arturia asks a few more questions out loud, receives no vocal answer, then feigns a sigh and apologizes for wasting their time. They have duties to attend to after all.

To complete the deception, because she knows the Administrators' are listening, she spends another half hour pretending to try and map out the Tower some more, only to be distracted. Then she goes to one of the terminals on the media floor and makes a post:]

[Text]
To anyone who has died withing the Tower, has anything strange happened when you are brought back lately?

[Some part of her wonders what Archer would think if he knew about this little ploy of hers.]

Patrick Dawn
09 August 2013 @ 07:45 pm
[It's roughly mid-afternoon when Rick is revived--the first floor dorms will be alerted to his presence as he bursts out of 1-16 and runs to the bathrooms, then dry-heaves for an alarming amount of time.]

[He's not taken his death well. To be fair, it's not just dying that's troubling him. The administrators have removed the monster from his mind, but they didn't remove the memories of when it possessed him; he might not recall the exact words he used, or the motivations he had, but the pained expressions of those he targeted remain, and they are agonizing. If only Enoch had killed him for good! If only he never had to look at them again!]

[Of course the Tower won't go easy on him there. Dragging his feet, disheveled and shuddering with occasional sobs, Rick staggers to a terminal while the words are still fresh in his head and bashes out a quick notice: ]

This is Patrick Dawn. Some of you might have met me over the past few days...I need to let you know that the person you met wasn't me.

I'm a shapeshifter--I can take the forms of other creatures if I find them...in a certain condition. I had an idea to try and bond with a monster this way, and...well, it worked...but I couldn't control it. The monsters aren't what they appear to be. I'm not quite sure what they are, exactly...Please, if you have abilities similar to mine, don't follow my lead. For the amount of pain and suffering I've put everyone through, it's not worth it.

For the people that I encountered...I can't even begin to express how sorry I am. I would ask for your forgiveness, but this whole thing was my fault--I don't deserve your sympathies. If there's any possible way for me to make up for the horrible things I've said and done, I will be more than willing to follow through...but I also understand if that's an impossible request. I would take everything back if I could, but...I can't, so...I need to learn to live with my mistakes.

I know it's not enough...I'm so sorry.

[Rick immediately abandons the terminal after he posts to go hide in his room. He'll reply to people, but only after a few hours of collecting his thoughts again.]

Ryoji Mochizuki / 'Mushi'
09 August 2013 @ 11:17 pm
[Ryoji wasn't often seen using the network. In a place such as this, there was too much to do and too little time to spend on the terminals, unless it was to check for information. That had been Ryoji's main reason for paying attention to the network, and he hardly responded lately, after his last message went awry.

Today, though, he's gained enough confidence to turn back on the feed again. He's looking a little cheerier than usual, though that may not be completely genuine. He's not really happy... yet. But he's hoping with this message that maybe he can have some conversations that will help him cheer up, and more importantly, cheer up others in the process.

He offers a small wave and then begins to speak.]

Hi, everyone! I know this may seem to be out of nowhere, but I have a question. You see, as strange as this is going to sound, I didn't get a chance to stay very long in my original world, and because of that, there are a lot of things I've never experienced. I know here, there isn't much opportunity to try new things, but I don't mind that.

I think hearing about something is sometimes just as interesting as experiencing it yourself.

So, if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to ask what you did for fun back home! I can understand if it's hard to get yourself in the mood, or if you don't really want to share something personal, but I think swapping stories could be a mood booster. We need some of those lately.

If enough people share, then maybe I'll even tell you a secret story of my own! It's pretty embarrassing though, so my lips are sealed for now.

[He chuckles softly, but there is evidence of a blush...]
