[The network screen flickers on to show a young woman. She doesn't look tired the same way she did when she first arrives, but nevertheless a haunted, hunted quality lingers about her face and especially in her eyes.
But she has turned this on for a reason, and she has thought about what she's going to say before she says it.]Hello. My name is Nina Fortner. I was brought here a few days ago. I'm working as a culinary assistant. If you can call it that.
[The experience is terrifying and strange and not at all like any actual work she knows.] Forcing people to do things like that is wrong. I almost can't believe it. That, and the experiments I've been hearing so much about... I don't think I know how they expect us to ever be happy here.
I've had some of my questions answered since I've been here, and I'm grateful to the people who helped me. I mean it. Thank you. I don't think there's enough I can say.
[She pauses, but it's deliberate; she's weighing her words, considering what she needs to say.]But there are a few more things I'd like to know. If possible, I'd like to have a list of what areas of the tower have been explored already. I know some of these floors are dangerous... but I don't want to sit and do nothing, either. I was thinking, if nobody's done it already, everyone who's been exploring already should probably get together and make note of what we know.
If someone has done that, I'd like to know who.
That's it, I think. Thank you.
[She starts to turn it off, hand reaching out, and then she abruptly pauses.]Oh. One more thing. I know some people have been having trouble with this network. I think I've got a pretty good idea how it works... I wouldn't mind showing anyone who needs help.
[If they can see this; she knows that a network broadcast is hardly the ideal way to reach out to people who have trouble with the network. She's also aware there aren't many alternatives, though.] Just come find me.
