It's starting to get cold. I heard the power was out for a long time last winter, so I'm trying to make things like gloves and scarves. If anyone in particular wants some, please let me know. Also, if there's anyone who could make cloaks or something else like that, it would be a good idea to do that.

I might as well say it now too, November 30th is Saint Andrew's Day, and I'd like to try to observe it. Assuming nothing prevents it from happening, I'll be preparing a feast on floor 25 on that day. Everyone's welcome to it.

[The feed opens on a rather young woman, standing with her arms crossed and whip in hand. She doesn’t look very pleased.]

If any of you have an actual explanation for what this place is, or for what reason we’ve come here, please come forward now. I find it difficult to believe that that this ‘tower’, however you fools call it, is not an elaborate ruse created by some fool who is unaware who he’s dealing with.

[Edgeworth can be seen standing right behind her with his arms crossed and a frown on his face.]

Franziska, while I honestly cannot blame you for thinking that I have gone completely insane, I assure you that any answers you get on the network will be exactly the same as mi-[Yep. That comment results in a whip from Franziska - WHICH HURTS DAMMIT.]IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!

[As Franziska withdraws her whip, Edgeworth grabs his shoulder, wincing in pain. Boy, he is going to feel sorry for Franziska and the many people who will become her whip victims for telling the truth.]

As I said, if anyone can come forward with a less foolish explanation than my brother, please do so now. I will be waiting in the library on the third floor. That is all.

[Both Edgeworth and his rather infuriated sister can be found in the library. Come and join them if you want to be whipped give the poor girl some information

Replies will be: Poster> Franziska > Edgeworth.]

I've been thinking. It's getting to be almost winter, and I know a lot of times, especially during Jason and Ruana's months, there's no real heat.

[Either they lost power or someone turned it off or... something]

So I think that those of us who can sew should get together and try to make as many clothes as we can that people can use. Especially people who don't have a lot of warm clothing from home. We can't really do anything [read: mount resistance efforts against crazy administrators] if we're too cold to move.

Anybody who's interested could meet on floor 51. The fabric there isn't too good, but we don't have much else and I've read about how to survive in the cold; layers should still help. And we should pick a place where people can get the clothes as they need them.

[If nothing else, her room would probably work in the short term. There were two empty beds in there, though there was also the problem of people not being able to get them if there wasn't somebody in the room]

Could anybody help me with this? I'm getting better but I can't do too much by myself.
[Losing Mami, who he viewed as an adopted daughter, last month had been hard, but Diarmuid had worked his way through his grief by focusing on the happy times they had spent together.  However, when three more people he is close to are sent home--two of which he cares for like his own children--those happy memories become a source of pain instead of a route passed the grief.

When he appears on the Network, Diarmuid looks more lost and empty than he has in a long time.

Usually, when I address everyone, I am asking for help on a project that will benefit the whole Tower.  Today, I am asking for help on a more personal level.

How does one handle losing a child?  Not just one, but several over a short period of time?  Nothing I try seems to work, and I am...

[His voice trails off here, shaking and uncertain.  A short time later, the feed ends.]

In our arms for a little while, in our hearts forever. )

[Xion's face on the feed is set, her tone short, to the point.]

Anybody who's trying to learn more about the Tower, the admins, everything, come to the third floor library. I have something people might want to see.

[[ooc; Xion will not be replying to this post. Though she can be found in the library here.]]

Does anybody know what learned helplessness is? I tried looking in the library but all the books it looked like it would be in are gone.
07 July 2013 @ 06:14 pm
Does anybody know if there's some way to make the countdown thing go away? At least for a little while? It's really distracting.

[She speaks of course of the Countdown to Power Failure. It's giving her the creeps and at this rate she's going to want to use the terminals even less.]

I can't help but notice a handful of people actually following along with that little collar-based rebellion only just mentioned on this very network.

You're all idiots. Allow me to outline the problems with this ill-conceived notion.

class is now in session )

In summary? All of you engaging in this little collar boycott are either ill-informed, stupid, or both. I would advise those of you with intellect or common fucking sense to dissuade those showing interest in this. I think I've covered the most urgent and pressing points. If there are any questions, comments, or smart remarks of 'what the hell do you know', please leave them here or in the mailbox of Lord El-Melloi II. I'm not hard to find.

Since my anniversary of being in the tower for a year is in three days or so...

How many other people have spent more time in the tower than in their own worlds?
15 May 2013 @ 06:51 pm
Hello to those I have not met yet. My name is Tear Grants. I am the companion of the two Luke fon Fabres, Asch the Bloody and Guy Cecil that have resided in the tower for a while now. After some discussion, I have decided to offer healing and fighting lessons twice a week in the meadow on the twenty-fifth floor. The first time will be on the 17th at 8pm. The second will be the 20th at 8pm. All are welcome to join me to learn. I'm sure that there will be other magic users and fighters, if you are not interested in learning in how to heal.

Thank you for your time, fellow residents.

[She probably should have done this a lot sooner but... to tell the truth it's taken this long for the wound of Reno's departure to not be too raw. But now some of the edge is fading, and she needs to be practical. She's never going to get better like this.]

Up until recently I was training with someone how to fight, but... he's gone now. So... I was wondering, is there anybody who can help me train? I can fight hand-to-hand, and also I can... I've never found anything like it anywhere else, but I think it's most like a sword in other worlds. I'm trying to learn to fight with it a little differently too, so... I might not be as good, but I want to to get better.

[Meaning her bad hand is useless for pretty much anything still, and she hasn't had much chance to practice one-handed keyblade wielding]

Anyway, thanks.

[She pauses, then adds]

Oh... Shion, if I find anybody, do you want to come as well? [Er...] I'll ask you if I see you too.

Judging from the enthusiasm present in our lovely abode and the current fare offered, along with the so thoughtful warnings, I expect they be a sign of...Bright days ahead, aye?

What's this nonsense about this being a 'Jason month'.

28 March 2013 @ 12:28 am
[ Greetings people of the tower, have the King of Evil who cursed the tower this month appear on the terminals, for the first time in over six months. He looks fairly neutral, with a very light smile. ]

So long as it been since I last posted here, and yet I see nothing changed. The same cycle has been repeating over and over again, both here and where we come from. Higher powers play with those they see as inferior... Cruel and pointless games meant to satisfy their own amusement. From the tortured crowds sometimes a voice arise, then many--

But at the first bone tossed their way, the mindless masses go back in rank behind the higher powers they chose to venerate as deities. At the first occasion to forget, they chose blissful ignorance. Yes... In the end, complacency reigns. People always return to their meaningless preoccupations and lose of sight what should matter most.

[ He pauses and shakes his head in disapproval before continuing. ]

Have voice even been heard in this tower? Many entertained -and without a doubt still do- the idea that following certain golden haired women would bring them what they longed for. Yet, nothing happened. All they did was replace a deplorable situation with another, build a false hope they could comfort themselves with. All they did was turn a blind eye on reality.

Not a voice arise to stand against the status quo. [A very short and deep chuckle.] How pathetic. Tell me, Tower of Animus, do you not believe time has come for you to awaken and bring about an end to this?
[When the video turns on, it flickers to show Jin standing in front of the computer, bringing his hand down to stab something into the table in front of the computer terminal for the webcam to see. When he moves his hand, it's revealed to be a bloodied scalpel-- the blood's dried by now, but a savvy observer could tell that the blood hasn't been there for that long. In fact, it looks relatively fresh.

This is probably why Jin is looking so pissed off into the video viewer, the crack in the corner of his glasses widening since the last time anyone saw him.]

I'm not surprised that you bastards have such a shitty sense of humor. [For anyone that knew Jin, he was being...surprisingly, calm for how absolutely seething he was.]

I haven't even done anything in the last month. But if you're gonna keep rubbing this in my face--

[And here he reaches forward to pull the scalpel back out of where it was stuck as the video feed glitches slightly.] --Then I'm gonna make sure this "present" counts. Just you wait.

[He tightens his grip on the knife, and looks like he's about to stab it into the monitor like the rampant vandalism he committed the first day he came here-- but surprisingly makes a better judgment, and just turns the feed off.

He's got a scalpel with your name on it, Jason.]
[Xion doesn't check the network a lot, but she does still do it every once in a while, and... to be honest she's glad she did so today. After seeing that network post, from the admins.

It took her a little while to work out what to do, because if Ruana might be coming... She didn't know. But all she knew was that this was the first good thing to happen in what felt like a long time, and she knew Reno was already upset about some of the things that had already happened since her last network post.

After a while, she sets up the feed, then filters it, firstly from Reno and Elena themselves since she's not sure what they'll think, and then from at three people she knows she doesn't want to see this.]

Please... I know that some of you already know about this, and some of you may have heard it just now on that... video, but... there's going to be a wedding, for two of my friends.

I really, really want this to work. A lot of bad stuff has happened lately, even for the Tower. I just want this one thing to go right, even if it's just for a little while.

The wedding is going to be soon, so... I wanted to ask for help. If there's anybody who can be there, to make sure... that things go okay, or at least keep them from getting too bad, then... please let me know. I'll be in the lower library, if you want to talk there.

And... to the admins, I don't know if you're listening but please don't do anything that... [Keep it polite, Xion. Dax was helpful when you asked about stopping the memory absorption] that might hurt them or mess the wedding up. They deserve to be happy. I want them to be happy.

[[ooc; If your character would like to get involved with the wedding at all, the details/signups are here and here! Also Xion will reply to this network post, but can also be found at the library]]
28 December 2012 @ 07:31 pm
[Well lately has been an utter roller coaster of feelings. To say the least. It'd taken a few days musing (some of those days being distracted by a certain book of notes she'd recieved) to realize that maybe she needed a little help with this.]

So... can anybody tell me about weddings and getting married? Just... different things about it. A friend explained some of it to me but... [A lot of it seemed way over her head.] It was really confusing.

[Maybe hearing a few different thoughts about it would help.]
12 December 2012 @ 05:31 pm
[For all she'd told Shion she was fine a few days ago, the cough had started later that afternoon and everything else had come out of nowhere and hit her like a giant Heartless. She was so tired it was a bit difficult to get out of bed, and everything just seemed to be getting colder - though it was hard to tell with how cold everything already was. Meanwhile, her whole body felt like it was aching.

The voice coming across the feed is a very special kind of miserable, maybe a little worried too. She doesn't usually post on the network but right now she doesn't have the energy to drag herself throughout the Tower looking for people she knows.]

Do we know if the Tower is doing s-s-something...? I... [she pauses to cough] feel really bad, and I don't get w-why. I've never felt like this before.

[Guess who's never been sick a day before in her admittedly short life? Not to mention it's a Jason month if the food is anything to go by and she's seen the occasional other person coughing and such too - and the whole "spread of disease" concept is totally lost on her.]
09 September 2012 @ 11:59 am
Anybody still here count off. I need an update.
06 September 2012 @ 12:56 pm
[ Cloud sounds tired. Really, really tired as if he hadn't been sleeping too well lately. He also sounds a little hoarse. Night terrors. They are just so much fun. ]

Rusty... if you're around, maybe we should talk.

Or something.

Aerith? Tifa? Zack? Tseng? Sparky? Are you still here?

Doc... Thanks for rebuilding First Ken. It's pretty useful.
